The Infernals: A Samuel Johnson Tale

A young adult novel, detailing a fantastical conflict between human characters and denizens of Hell. The plot centers on Samuel Johnson, a young boy who, along with his dog Boswell and the demon Nurd, is trying to survive in Hell after being pulled there by the villainous demon Mrs. Abernathy (formerly Ba’al), who seeks to regain favor with her master, the Great Malevolence. Various factions of demons, including Duke Abigor and his operatives, are vying for power amidst the ensuing chaos, which also involves a group of dwarves/elves and police officers who have also been inadvertently transported to Hell. The narrative also includes technical discussions and footnotes about physics concepts like time travel and the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), which was initially used to open the portal between worlds.
