Betsy Brandenburg Hurst is a gifted and renowned designer in Portland, Oregon.  Over the past 20+ years she has worked to enhance the beauty, function and livability of homes... not just in Portland but also in Seattle, San Francisco and the Chicago area.

 Since 2005, Betsy has run her own design firm - Brandenburg Studios Design - creating gorgeous interiors for homes and businesses.  More recently, Betsy has launched Designer Sanity, a groundbreaking design roadmap system and online course that she created to help designers manage their projects so that they can achieve maximum organization and success - with ease!

In this inspiring interview, Betsy speaks candidly about her journey into a career in design, including taking the wrong turns and learning how to follow her intuition.  She shares about being willing to ask the hard questions, learning how to let go of opportunities that made her miserable, learning how to trust herself, and building a business as a spiritual practice.

A lot of women (including mothers) between the ages of 35 and 55 seek life coaching because they feel stuck in a life that they don't feel very connected to and don't particularly like.  They feel trapped but unsure of what is wrong or how to proceed forward in their life to find more happiness & more joy, fun or fulfillment.

Part of thriving as a woman in midlife involves exploring the boxes that we're in... whether we've been placed there by society or our family, or we ourselves have put ourselves inside of them a long time ago.

Have you ever had a misunderstanding or disagreement about something that seemed clear to you but which another person viewed or understood totally differently?

Leslie tells the tragic story of her first husband Mike and the undiagnosed traumatic brain injury that ultimately took his life. 

With grace, strength and humor Leslie shares the wisdom that helped her navigate the bewildering and terrible loss of her husband after their son's recovery from childhood leukemia. 

Leslie explains how she grappled with Mike's suicide and found the strength to be there for their three young children as she rebuilt a life and future for her family. 

Leslie now coaches widowed moms and other mothers on how to change the stories they tell themselves that are holding them back from their dreams, and to learn to create a life they truly love.

Despite being a tough topic, this is truly an uplifting, inspiring episode.  You won't want to miss it!
