A lot of women (including mothers) between the ages of 35 and 55 seek life coaching because they feel stuck in a life that they don't feel very connected to and don't particularly like. They feel trapped but unsure of what is wrong or how to proceed forward in their life to find more happiness & more joy, fun or fulfillment.
Part of thriving as a woman in midlife involves exploring the boxes that we're in... whether we've been placed there by society or our family, or we ourselves have put ourselves inside of them a long time ago.
The box is a symbol but of course it can represent our work, our relationship, our family, our lifestyle, etc. Today in the podcast we are going to explore many different kinds of boxes we sometimes find ourselves in - both the ones that we actively choose, and the ones that we would honestly never choose.
We'll also talk about how to change our thinking about these boxes (if we want to) in order to deconstruct and recreate them in a way that brings us real joy and satisfaction!

Penny and José have been married for 9 years and have two daughters. Penny worries about how distant José can be, and how he seems to compartmentalize his family life away from his work. José, for his part, thinks Penny can be a bit clingy and needy and he often calls her out for being too 'emotional.' Even though they love each other and want their relationship to work, they are really struggling. Unknowingly, Penny and José are caught up in the famous 'anxious-avoidant trap' that often sabotages relationships.

Have you ever had a misunderstanding or disagreement about something that seemed clear to you but which another person viewed or understood totally differently?
There is a complex interplay between the things we say... what we actually mean... the ways that other people hear what we say, and the meaning that they then create from our words. This can have a powerful effect upon the way we engage with others (especially when it comes to people that we either don't like OR that we don't know very well). It can also change the way that other people may perceive US and our intentions.
In Episode 23 of The Infinite Capacity Podcast (first episode of SEASON TWO!) Andrea Morton will explore a conversation between two ex-spouses and a visit to urgent care, in order to examine the impact that preconceptions, tone and mindset have on our some of our most personal and crucial conversations.
