That's how U.S. president Donald Trump described his plan to end seven decades of conflict between Palestinians and Israelis.

However, Palestinian leaders weren't involved in the process and they immediately rejected it as a conspiracy.

The plan sides with Israel on the so-called 'final status issues' to be resolved with the Palestinians.

Israel gets Jerusalem as its capital, as well as sovereignty over the Jordan Valley and illegal Jewish settlements in the West Bank.

Palestinians have been promised a path towards their own state, but only after four years of monitoring to determine whether their leaders are doing enough to fight 'terrorism'.

So does the proposal boost or undermine peace?

The U.S. is pressuring allies in the West to ban Huawei.

The Chinese tech giant provides world-leading technology for the next generation of mobile networks called 5G.

However, the Trump administration has long accused Beijing of using it for spying.

U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo wants Britain to rethink its decision to allow Huawei a limited role in building its 5G networks.

He says Huawei equipment could jeopardise intelliegence-sharing with the U.S. and other members of the so-called Five Eyes security alliance - the UK, Australia, New Zealand and Canada.

So is Huawei a threat to cyber security? Or are there deeper reasons for Washington's mistrust?

China is taking desperate measures to try to contain the coronavirus.

Cities are in lockdown, including Wuhan where the outbreak originated. Shops and businesses are closed. And millions of people are banned from travelling.

The government has stopped its citizens joining overseas tour groups in an attempt to prevent the virus spreading abroad…but it already has, with a number of countries, including Thailand, Germany, Japan, and the United States reporting confirmed cases.

Kobe Bryant took basketball to new heights, and helped give the game international prominence.

The world is now mourning his death at the age of 41. His teenage daughter and seven other people also died in the crash.

Fans, sporting personalities and celebrities have been paying tribute to a legend on and off the court.

Bryant burst onto the scene in 1996 as a talented teenager with ambitions to become the best.

By the time he retired 20 years later, he'd won the NBA championship five times with the Los Angeles Lakers, and was an inspiration for a generation of young players.

And in 2018 he won an Oscar as writer-producer of a short animated film based on his love of the sport.

Landmines continue to affect the lives of so many people even decades after conflicts end, as it is with leftovers from the Iran-Iraq war in the 1980s.

Iraq is one of the world’s most affected countries with thousands of landmines planted close to the Iran-Iraq border.

And around this time of year they're even more of a problem.

The rainy season means earth gets washed away, which can reveal new mines, or even relocate ones which were already identified.

The allegation is that Jeff Bezos - the owner of Amazon and the Washington Post - had his phone hacked by a WhatsApp message sent bby the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman.

On its own that could be worrying enough. But of course the Post previously employed Jamal Khashoggi, the journalist whose murder by a Saudi hit squad has been widely linked to the Crown Prince.

Now the same UN players who investigated his killing, want an investigation into whether the hack took place, and if it was used to extort Bezos.

China's reporting people with coronavirus outside the epicentre of the outbreak have now died.

This, as health authorities around the world fear the infection rate could increase during what's usually China's busiest travel period of the year.

The International Court of Justice, the world's highest court, has ordered Myanmar's government to prevent it's military from committing acts of genocide against the Rohingya.

The ICJ has also warned that the Rohingya Muslim minority remain at serious risk of genocide and ordered the country to abide by the genocide convention, and take all measures within its power to prevent further killings.

The case brought by The Gambia last year accuses Myanmar of committing an ongoing genocide against its minority Muslim Rohingya population. Myanmar denies the allegations.

Thursday's ruling comes just days after an inquiry backed by Myanmar's government dismissed allegations of genocide. Myanmar's leader Suu Kyi says the Rohingya have 'exaggerated' abuses.

So what does this ruling mean and will Myanmar abide by the orders?

For only the third time in history, a U.S. president is on trial in the Senate.

Donald Trump is accused of abusing his power by pressuring Ukraine to investigate political rival Joe Biden, and then trying to block the inquiry into the matter.

He is calling the whole affair a hoax.

Senators spent the first day arguing over the rules of the trial, with Trump's Republican party blocking every attempt by the Democrats to present new evidence and witnesses.

At the end of the trial, two thirds of senators need to approve at least one article to remove the President from office.

However, that seems unlikely, as the Republicans hold a majority.

Saudi denies being behind hacking of Jeff Bezos's phone

The Saudi embassy in Washington, DC has dismissed a media report suggesting the kingdom was behind the hacking of the mobile phone of the Washington Post owner and Amazon founder, Jeff Bezos.

Citing unnamed sources, British daily The Guardian reported on Tuesday that the billionaire's phone was hacked in 2018 after receiving a WhatsApp message that was apparently sent from the personal account of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS).

Our economic system is broken and is overwhelmingly favouring the rich.

That's the message from Oxfam in a report released as the 50th World Economic Forum got underway in Switzerland.

The charity found the number of billionaires has doubled over the past decade, to more than 2,000.

They control more money than the 4.6 BILLION poorest people on earth.

If the two richest men sat on their fortune piled up in 100 dollar bills, they'd be in outer space, while most people, particularly women, would be sitting on the floor.

The charity says the gap is widening because governments are failing to ensure wealthy people and corporations pay enough tax.
