Susie Vybiral joins Jax on episode #15 of the Insights and Follies podcast.

Susie is the CEO of Room Redux, a non-profit in 13 locations worldwide, which transforms rooms of children who have experienced abuse. She has a master’s degree in psychology and is currently pursuing her PsyD. She is a contributing editor for San Antonio Women Magazine. She has been featured in The Skim and has been a past speaker at the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. She is a member of the Texas Women for Children and a Peace Ambassador for Texas through the Global Peace Challenge 2020. She is also in the process of writing a book.

In this episode, they discuss the ongoing work of Room Redux and the process of room transformations, how she became involved in creating and running a non-profit, her background in psychology and passion to help children and families, how room transformations may fit alongside therapies, the potential of research on changing room environments, personal impacts of her non-profit work, lessons learned from starting a non-profit, the role of people who make up the organization, collaboration with other groups and non-profits, the importance of volunteers within a non-profit organization, how people can become involved in Room Redux, some of her side passions (including her band Salubrious Fox), as well as other topics.
