"I don't think astrology really is something that one believes in. It's something you know or you don't know like French or German." -Alec Sense
This week I had the pleasure of speaking with professional astrologer Alec Senese. I have known Alec for a few years, and I have always liked how well he grounds spiritual information into the day-to-day. I was inspired to have him on the podcast for this exact reason... but I had no idea where the conversation would go organically! We touched on topics including word origins, masculine and feminine energies, and the concept of free will. I hope you enjoy listening to our conversation as much as I had having it!

Happy 2025! As we kick off a new year, we kick off a new chapter of the Inspired Being Podcast! While Liz is focusing her energy on her writing projects, Dave will be bringing on other Inspired practitioners to continue the conversations on all things mind, body, and spirit... and beyond!
This week I had the pleasure of speaking with Emily Schneider, LMFT. Emily and I discuss the important dynamics between practitioner and client, and how our clients reflect us as practitioners. As a Marriage and Family Therapist, Emily shares more about what that work entails, debunking some myths that it's a last stop before divorce, and who her client actually is.

Being our 50th (!) and final episode of the year, we step back and reflect on the year that was... 2024. We outline where we have been, not just this year, but the past 5 (and 13) years and announce some exciting changes as we aim to streamline what we offer and how we offer it going forward. There are some exciting announcements within...

We continue our conversation about clearing in this week's episode as we talk about clearing your self! We bring our different backgrounds and perspectives to the topic and explore whether things are actually "cleared" or simply readjusted, and some very simple (and free!) things you can do on your own to clear / adjust your own energy if you're feeling off.

As we enter the holiday season, it is common to have many people in and out of your space, and for you to travel to places which are not your home. In this week's conversation, we discuss what it means to "clear" a space - both to get it ready for you when you visit and for to reset it to you after others leave. Though Dave comes from a stronger background with energy work and Liz from psychology, we "align" our energies to this seasonally-appropriate.

We've taken the week off from new content... so in the place of a brand new episode, this one from last year's holiday season feels quite apropos as we enter this year's!

"It’s the most wonderful time of the year, right? Shouldn’t I be enjoying it more??"
We all know the holiday season holds a lot of potential for fun. It is also quite common to feel overwhelmed, obligated, pressured and exhausted!
Let us help lighten the load of expectations this season with some ideas and offerings to lead a more peaceful, soulful (perhaps even non-traditional??) holiday season.

We were both simultaneously inspired with the topic for this week's conversation, as we explore what it means to say that your spirituality is nature. With Liz and Dave having grown up in very different environments, how we define our spirituality related to nature is quite different, though the practical elements of communication with nature beings as well as just feeling connected to something larger than yourself is the same. We put a few questions and polls out to you our listeners as well - come join in the discussion with us!

With many of us in the United States feeling like we have experienced a huge setback as a country, the concept of “resiliency” has been very present in our sessions lately. What makes someone resilient to life’s hardships? Is this a natural and innate force, or is resiliency something you need to work at developing? Whether resiliency is fixed and found, cultivated or grown, we ultimately marvel at the mind-blowing power of love and our hearts’ determination to continue to seek loving connections.

We are spiritual beings having a human experience, and the Inspired Being Podcast aims, in part, to include a grounded spiritual perspective into our everyday life. Yet spirituality can have a dark side, as anything else, from whitewashing experiences, denying our own feelings, to outright manipulation and abuse. We shine a light on how spirituality can go bad and things that can be done to ensure a healthy, full, autonomous exploration.

Happy Halloween!
We are offering our episode a day early this week to come out on Liz's favorite holiday, the Hallowed Eve. We spent all our time last week focusing on the veil between worlds, so this week we discuss a smattering of Halloween superstitions, including black cats, spiders, masks and costumes, and much much more. What if the Grim Reaper has gotten a really bad rap?
