  • Do you intend to relate? The My Future Self Agreement

    My Future Self-Agreement, Version 1.0

What obligations do you owe the person you are becoming?

In this episode of The Intend to Relate Podcast, we introduce My Future Self-Agreement, Version 1.0—an agreement between who you are now and whoever you become.

The agreement begins with radical self-honesty: remembering what happened, paying attention to desires and patterns, experimenting, journaling, asking for help, and reality-testing assumptions.

Then it turns outward. What are your boundaries? What do you genuinely need? What do you actually desire? What possibilities do you want to leave open? What are you willing to promise another person—and what should remain free?

The agreement also makes room for revision. Boundaries can become clearer. Desires can change. Dreams can grow. Relationships can change form.

Changing after learning is not failure. It is evidence that you were paying attention.

My future self is not a stranger. I am creating that person now.

  • Do you intend to relate? Before the book, an invitation

The Intend to Relate Podcast explores how human beings can build relationships with greater freedom, honesty, intelligence, and intention.

Intend to Relate develops a philosophy and practical vocabulary for understanding what happens between people: what we want, what we assume, what we offer, what we conceal, what we agree to, and what we might deliberately create together.

The podcast examines relational intelligence, relationship agreements, rosters and archetypal aims, boundaries, consent and assent, ethical instrumentalism, relational seasons, endings, care, power, meaning, and the emergence—and dissolution—of the relationships and shared worlds we create.

The project begins from a simple proposition: some relational suffering is unavoidable, but much of it grows from unstated expectations, assigned roles, implied futures, withheld truths, coercion, deception, and assumptions about another person's intentions that were never actually tested.

Intend to Relate does not prescribe a single correct relationship model. It offers concepts, questions, agreements, and tools for people who want to understand their relationships more clearly and participate in them more deliberately.

Across the podcast, philosophy, psychology, theology, law, business, and lived experience become resources for asking a recurring question:

What are we actually creating together—and have we chosen it?

The podcast accompanies the growing Intend to Relate body of work developed by Intend2Relate, LLC.
