The Intervention

[Note: This episode has been remastered and combined with pt. 6. This rerelease can be found HERE]

Levi and Nick tackle the years of 1945-1957 in Palestine and dive deeply into the geopolitics surrounding the UN partition of Palestine, the years building up to the Suez Crisis and the contradictions therein.

Note to the listeners: Some crucial events and discussions are only lightly touched on in this episode, such as Al-Nakba.  These will be covered in a separate, supplementary episode.

We discuss the voluminous mind of Pete Buttigieg and hope to come away with some understanding of 3 mighty themes important to him: Neoliberalism, Masculinity and Christianity as we read a puff piece from Wired.  It's a real doozy, folks.

The Intervention crew joined Evan on Left of the Projector Podcast to discuss the 2019 Korean Best Picture winning film, Parasite, directed by Bong Joon-ho.

We discuss the themes of the film, its utility (or lack thereof) as a piece of leftist propaganda, the relationship between the US and South Korea and the impacts on South Korean society as a result of that history.

We are joined again by Daniel Kovalik to discuss his new book, Nicaragua: A History of US Intervention & Resistance, in this joint podcast with the Pittsburgh Anti-Imperialist League. We cover the history of the Sandinista movement, the unique trajectory of their revolution and much more. Ultimately, the story of the Sandinistas, and the Nicaraguan people broadly, is a story of perseverance and bravery in the face of unrelenting US violence and aggression. Dan's book tells this story properly.
