Ryan Mayfield is our episode guest today. This Tulsa-Oklahoma based coach explains the power behind the GiANT Team Performance Assessment. Focusing on these five key components can transform a team: communication, relationship, alignment, execution and capacity. He aims to help create healthy leaders and as a result healthy teams, and ultimately healthy organizations.
Episode Highlights, Links and Resources:
In the introduction, Jeremie mentions there is a need for re-establishing base communication and relational trust. Having Sherpas in the organization is the key. As a Sherpa goes, so goes the team. As a team goes, so goes the organization. If you want to fix your culture, it will take a minimum of three years to put the systems in place. Once you do, though, it will last you 10+ years. You'll create a culture of empowerment instead of just compliance.
Our guest this episode is Ryan Mayfield. He is a Guardian/Nurturer who has learned so much about himself through the 5 Voices. To learn more about the 5 Voices and to understand your Voice, take the assessment here.
Ryan explains the power behind the Team Performance Assessment and how it can transform a team by creating awareness of what areas need strengthened. It allows you to measure the effectiveness of a team and give you a baseline so you know what direction in which to focus. The goal is to create healthy leaders, teams and organizations.
Ryan works with clients in various industries both in-person and virtually. If you'd like to reach out to him to see ways he could work with your team or organization, reach out to him here.
Our favorite episode quotes:
Jeremie, Once someone figures out the power of the Sherpa and they empower them, then the organization sees growth happen. You have to develop team leaders because as the team leaders so goes that team. As the team goes, so goes the organization.
Ryan, "If your people aren't healthy, you'll never rise to the greatness of your systems."
Steve, "Learn to harness the super powers of everyone on a key for effective communication".

Story Or Die:
Whether you’re pitching a product, saving the planet, or convincing your kids not to text and drive, story isn’t just one way to persuade. It’s the way. It’s built into the architecture of the brain, and has been since early humans gathered around the camp fire, trying to figure out how to outsmart the lion next door.
In Story or Die, story coach Lisa Cron sets out to decode the power of story, first by examining how the brain processes information, translates it into narrative, and then guards it as if your life depends on it. Armed with that insight, she focuses on how to find your real target audience and then pinpoint their hidden resistance. Finally, she takes you, step-by-step, through the creation of your own story, one that allows your audience to overcome their resistance and take up your call to action, not because you told them to, but because they want to.

Saying Yes Means Saying No
Our time is a limited resource. So is our energy and our mental capacity. Every time we say Yes to something, we are effectively saying No to something else. Because of this, it is important that we are discerning with what we allow into our schedules and planners. What causes people to say Yes to things that they shouldn't? What can the effects be on a team that is overcommitted? How can leaders consistently give their Best Yes?
