Having spoke with Ruthie Bratlie from local 7 not only is she a BOSS IN THE FIELD she is a BOSS of a role model for other women as well. With the adventures that come with ironwork and raising a family she also tackles the obsession we share as IRONWORKERS by creating her own company and is taking charge as well. Not because she wants the recognition, but for nothing more  than the simple fact she loves this trade……. Ruthie is the light house beacon for women and she has inspired us as well. Well we finally have our first female on the show Madison Ford from oaklahoma Kansas City area she has done a majority of her time in the industrial style work, she got started with a fascination of the men she saw working around her while she passed out waters for her dads company. She quickly realized that this trade isn’t just for the men, but that women are equally able to do this work. Madison is a true IRONWORKER she doesn’t take shit from the men she works with and isn’t afraid to get up on the iron and show the doubters what’s up. Hope y’all like it and to the women out there listening. Yes you can. Also to the Non-Union Members you don’t have to start over from the very bottom. Talk to the men and women in the local halls and the organizers to, they can answer any question that you might have. And if you don’t know the number let us know we will find it for you.

We had our first of many “old timers” on this show today. Boo was and is a huge role model for a lot of the apprentices coming through the ranks of our apprenticeship, he helped mold Kevin and I into the journeyman we are today. As apprentices we owe a majority of our know how to these men and women that define and are the standard to what we want to become and what our trade needs us to become.
