Yukong Zhao grew up in socialist China where citizens did not have the basic freedom to pursue a happy life. His father was politically persecuted during China’s Cultural Revolution, which led to extreme poverty, a broken family, and devastating personal loss.
With exceptional perseverance, Yukong overcame horrendous life challenges, managed to attend the University of Science & Technology of China (one of the best in the nation). After graduation, Yukong took part in China’s economic reform, introducing Western industrial strategies to help China’s mining cities, where residents were enduring economic uncertainties and many serious social and environmental challenges. In his early 30s, he became a recognized industrial strategist and published a book in this field.
In 1992, Yukong legally immigrated to America to pursue his American Dream. Now he is running for Congress in Florida's 7th district.
