Shaydi's Advice
I'd like for folks to challenge the status quo. My particular advice and that is I never would have thought I would be in the circles and doing the things that I am now like 10 years ago. The more that I pushed forward, the more that I was able to break down doors and glass ceilings. So now everything seems pretty limitless. For a lot of founders out there, they just feel like they're going to win overnight and then most folks are not going to win overnight.
It's like a 10 year journey itself. Your journey. I've seen folks that raise several rounds and they're still, like needing to raise more rounds. Really believe in yourself, surround yourself with other folks that believe in yourself. But also challenge you to be better.

Starr's Advice
I think as an entrepreneur, just remember that you do have control over your schedule. It's not selfish to take some personal me time. At the end of the day, the customers will be there. But the people you love might not always be, so it's important to invest in your personal life as much as you invest in your business. You are your business.

Fabulingua, Inc
His China experiences
Raising Money
The Austin Tech and Startup scene
Mark's Bio
"Mark Begert is the CEO of FabuLingua, a language learning platform for kids based on interactive, children's stories.
FabuLingua is rethinking the way second languages are introduced and reinforced, especially for young children whose brains are actively wiring to all new language input. Applying stories and reading is a timeless practice to learning our native language, and FabuLingua believes it is also naturally effective in second language acquisition. FabuLingua uses technology, delightful stories and game design to create an engaging and effective language learning experience.
FabuLingua's unique model helps publishers, writers, and illustrators from all over the world to publish and monetize their stories. Our first product teaches Spanish & English, but soon we will offer multiple languages, markets and mediums.
Before founding FabuLingua, Mark has been a start-up to public company founder, operations and finance executive specializing in early and growth stage challenges. Mark has led the growth and maturation of investor-backed companies in the technology, energy and consumer sector, raising $100 million + in angel, venture and public equity for 4 companies. He has worked with both private and public company executive teams, boards, and investors. Mark has a BA from Harvard University and serves on the Board of start-up, coop and non-profit organizations."

Fabulingua YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCkckZaKbwxIksHmDdY1yxLw
Mark's Advice
From our perspective, I would just encourage parents, uncles, aunts, and grandparents, to give the gift of language learning to their kids, nephews and grandkids. We'd loved it to be through fabulingua, but you know, if there are other ways that that are suitable as well. It's something that I believe benefits these children so much in terms of developing perspective and empathy in our world. Which is something that's going to sort of benefit generations for years to come.
If you want to learn more about our particular method, and you want to see some examples of the stories that we have, and understand the brain science and the learning science behind language learning in general. Then I would really recommend you go to our website which has great resources around how it works.

I will tell the listeners to go check out just based on what we've been talking about. Go check out two books. One is the four hour workweek by Timothy Ferriss. It's a really great book about geo arbitrage and about lifestyle design. The other book, I would say is Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook by Gary Vaynerchuk. That book is all about providing value to others before basically asking them for value.

Jen's Advice
I think that my advice, wisdom, or whatever you want to call it. Is that remember every word and every action that you take as a leader, you're creating someone's world. That world expands outside of that moment.
Make sure as a leader that you are engaging people, you're empowering people, that you are appreciating what someone brings to the table. Even on their bad days, so that when they go back out, outside of that. Whether that's affecting your team or their life at home. Just make sure that you understand the power of leadership resonates outside of that moment and that exchange.

How Amazon works
Is Amazon actually good for small business
How to promote your business on Amazon
Jon's Bio
After working for a few years after graduating from the University of Washington in 2010, Jon grew impatient with the progression of income at his corporate commercial construction job. After doing months of research on his own, he started his Amazon FBA business in 2014 with a humble golfing product and soon became the #1 seller in the category.
Within a few years he was doing multiple millions in sales on the Amazon platform thanks to multiple brands and ever expanding product lines. In just under five years, he did over $10 million in total sales. In 2018, he reached out to a business broker and sold for a mid 7 figure exit in 2019. He is now helping sellers new and old achieve the same level of success at Black Label Advisor.

Jon's Advice
Just related to Amazon being really diligent and really just disciplined with how you're looking at in terms of launching a product. A lot of people get obsessed with data and they experience data paralysis. It's really important also to go with your gut a little bit on Amazon. Just pursue your passion and really just focus on how profitable product is.

Mary's Advice
For business owners, I would say really understand your values and what you're trying to communicate, before you go to a designer, and work hard to figure those things out. What's right for your company, the more you know about what you're trying to communicate, the better a designer is going to be at their job.
If you already have that leg up, the more the better. Think about brand as you're developing your processes. What is your customer service and how does that pan out? How does that tie to your values and your brand overall? Is it all communicating together because it'll make that authenticy if you're very consistent in your communications both visually and your team members so culturally, culturally in your company.
For young designers, my advice for them is to try to get internships and opportunities to do design before you're out of school. If you're self-taught, use as many opportunities as you can to do more projects and to get more experience, even if you become one of the designers on 99 designs or Fiverr.
That's what those are great for students that are trying to build up a body of work or get more experience working with clients. They can get on those. The more experience you have, the better because then your portfolio gets better. The way that you interact with clients are better and it's going to serve you well, in the long run.
For military spouses, use all the time that you can when your spouse is gone, all of those extra lulls that you have to build that community around you. I would have never survived without my community, and especially if you can't afford to pay somebody else.
There will be families that we have very close relationships with. Having that community of people you trust without relying on family because we don't have any family nearby. Use that and then use that time to really focus on yourself and build your dreams and what you want out of your life and career.
