A life-long bike enthusiast, founder Aaron Powell started Bunch Bikes after falling in love with Scandanavian bicycle culture on a family trip to Malmö, Sweden in 2016. It was here he first discovered cargo bikes, and for a whole summer, he rode with his daughter every day just like the locals did.But after coming back home, Aaron was unable to find a reasonably-priced, quality-made cargo bike to buy for his family. So he made it his mission to share the joy of family biking and bring cargo bikes to North America.

Terrence Murphy

After a successful football career at Texas A&M, Terrence graduated Class of 2005 and was drafted by the Green Bay Packers that same year in the NFL Draft.

After retiring from the NFL, real estate became his main focus and passion.He became a serious investor in the Texas real estate market and founded the brokerage TM5 Properties in 2010. Terrence has personally completed $250M+ in sales volume over the past 10 years. He is a visionary and serial entrepreneur at heart. He has successfully started a number of ventures and companies over the years, including the launch of the Real Estate Entrepreneur podcast. Terrence possesses the same traits that he portrayed on the football field: passion, work ethic, dedication, loyalty, desire to succeed, and knowledge, all of which help his clients receive superior service.

This was one of my favorite interviews. I know I say that all the time, but it’s true. Terrence is a truly special human. As an athlete, a husband, a father and entrepreneur, Terrence is hitting on all cylinders.

Eric Champ is an entrepreneur, health and wellness practitioner and both of these things were unexpected. Herb Kelleher

was undoubtedly one of the most fun if not the most fun episodes I’ve ever done. Southwest Airlines Co-founder and former CEO Herb Kelleher is a business legend. I had the good fortune of sitting down with three of Herb’s closest friends including two members of the Southwest board of directors to talk about what made Kelleher so special.

In this episode we don’t just dive into what made him such a special business leader, but what made him a special man. We’ve all heard the stories of Southwest’s legendary culture. Well, in this episode you find out where it all started.

The cast of this episode I’m proud to say are all Texas Titan alumni.

First, is Jim Bayless (Episode 30) who recounts the earliest days of Southwest Airlines. Bayless was there when Southwest was still being incubated and had a front row seat to the birthing of what would become one of the greatest stories in the airline industry to ever be told.

Next is former State Senator and Texas Tech Chancellor and sitting Southwest board member John Montford (Episode 57). Senator Montford has lived a thousand successful lives already, and knew Herb Kelleher as well as anyone. Not only did they become close friends, but he was serving as a State Senator when Kelleher was lobbying the halls of the Austin Capitol.

Finally, Dr. Bill Cunningham (Episode 65) the former President of The University of Texas and Chancellor of the U.T. System and long serving Southwest Airlines board member recounts some of the funniest stories about his dear friend Herb.

I can not be more grateful for these three gentleman lending their time to the Texas Titan podcast. It was so fun to watch and listen to them tell their stories about one of the most colorful figures to ever enter the Texas business landscape.

Kevin East

Kevin East comes from an extensive background of ministry strategy, staff leadership, and community engagement. He and his wife, Stephanie, have called Tyler, Texas home for almost 20 years. During many of those years he was the Executive Director of Ministries at Pine Cove, overseeing all of Pine Cove’s camps and ministries.

Kevin has served as President of the Mentoring Alliance since 2013. 

Kevin is a dynamic communicator, having spoken at various events on issues about biblical truth and godly parenting. He is currently on the speaker team of Family Matters, and speaks at events each year on Grace Based Parenting.

Kevin and his wife, Stephanie, are the proud parents of five children. Two of them began as foster children, but God allowed them the great opportunity to adopt them in the fall of 2012. Stephanie and Kevin share a strong passion for families living out the mission of God. They have done this through fostering and mentoring children, opening their home to those who have needed a safe place full of godly love, security and healing.

Kevin is a graduate of Louisiana State University and completed his Master of Arts in Global Leadership through Fuller Seminary. He is currently an active member at Bethel Bible Church in Tyler, Texas.

Tiger Coffman

SMU Cox School of Business EMBA Class of 2014

This is one of my favorite episodes to date. I sat down with three members of my SMU MBA cohort to discuss life after the MBA. Was it worth it? How did the MBA help? Should others get their MBA? If you follow the show at all, you know I’m a huge proponent of education. However, I’m very skeptical of traditional education. I wanted to visit with three accomplished guys with who I was in the academic trenches and came out successful on the other side.

Jake Frost is a seasoned healthcare executive who has nearly two decades of experience. He has worked with Fortune 500 firms such as McKesson as well as start-ups. Jake is one of the best “analysis” guys I know. He has a talent for taking reams of big data and distilling it into a story.

Scott Mars comes from the management consulting world and has found himself as a top executive in the software industry. With a pedigree that includes Accenture, IBM and several start-ups Scott has found his lane, and found great success.

John Perry is a former business partner of mine and my Co-founder of Mustang Southern Capital. John has a deep knowledge of both commercial real estate and healthcare management often combining the two. He has worn the title of CEO more than once, and is one of the best “thinkers” I’ve had the opportunity to work with.

I love these guys. I’m honored to call them friend. But for Jake and John two of my study group members I would not have graduated I assure you. I hope you enjoy this episode as much as I enjoyed creating it.

Todd Staples was named President of the Texas Oil and Gas Association in November of 2014. As President of the state’s oldest and largest trade association, Staples has focused on expanding TXOGA’s presence as the “go-to” source for reliable and credible oil and gas information. In order to continue a positive jobs and growth environment at the Texas Capitol, TXOGA must be a modern-day voice for the industry.

Working with the TXOGA Board, Staples developed a strategic communications plan to educate voters and elected officials on the industry’s contributions to the state. He has established a Political Action Committee that played a critical role in electing pro-industry lawmakers, and, last session, led a bi-partisan effort to support passage of landmark legislation that provides cities with authority to reasonably regulate surface activity while affirming the regulation of oil and natural production is under the exclusive jurisdiction of the state.

Prior to TXOGA, Staples served as the Texas Agriculture Commissioner, winning two statewide elections. He also served with distinction in the Texas Senate and Texas House of Representatives.

After graduating with honors from Texas A & M University, Staples began his career on the Palestine City Council where he was a successful small businessman and rancher. A proud family man, Todd and his wife Janet split time between Austin and Palestine.

Todd is a good friend, and has been an incredible servant leader for the state of Texas. It was great to catchup with him.
