Royalty- a sum paid to a patentee for the use fo a patent or to an author or a composer for the use of their copyright.

Mechanical royalties Mechanical royalties are paid to songwriters or publishers. Songs can be licensed for audio products, including CDs, digital recordings, vinyl or even cassettes. These products generate royalties when they are sold. However, these royalties are typically based on sales of goods rather than production. For example, if the CD is never sold, you wouldn’t earn any royalties.

Music distribution company
a company that signs deals with record companies or artistes which gives them the
right to sell music to digital platforms
Distributor means a third party that is authorised to carry out marketing,
distribution or use of the digital masters
Digital master- means the copy of the rights holder content in digital format
Right holder content- sound recording and musical composition that's the right
holder has made available to the distribution
company during the term.
Music distribution is the way that recorded music gets into the hands of consumers
normally done by distribution companies which are given the right by the rights
holder or label to sell the product.
