  • "Yes, but" is a dangerous phrase I stay away from using today
How many times have you used the phrase "yes, but?" In the past, I used this phrase very often. Whenever someone would try and give me good advice, I would often say yes, but. Today, I avoid using this phrase because it often causes me to ignore things that I know are right in my heart. For example, when I was first trying to lose weight, people would tell me to eat healthier. My response would often be yes, but I don't like the taste of healthy food, or healthier foods are too expensive. This was an example of my mind using a small and incomplete idea to prevent me from facing reality. I would often take a similar approach when people would tell me that I should consume less alcohol. Today, I pray that I can listen to my heart and those around me who want to see me succeed. Thank you for taking the time to be here with me, and I appreciate your feedback!

  • Fantasy thinking creates pain. Here is how I stop daydreaming and appreciate this moment as it is.
Fantasy thinking ultimately creates pain and suffering in the moment. It has taken me nearly my entire life to learn this lesson. Most of my life I would ignore the good around me because I wanted more. For example, while I was still in school I would always want to date the "hottest" girls. Now there were multiple problems with this fantasy. For one, I was using my skewed teenage perception of beauty, at the time, to determine whether or not girls were attractive. Two, I didn't stop to think whether or not we would actually get along. Last but most important, fantasizing about girls would cause me to look over the ones that were actually interested in me. So, instead of daydreaming about what could be, take the time to appreciate what you already have in the moment. Thank you for taking the time to be here with me, and I appreciate your feedback!

  • Tears of gratitude! Was yesterday a good day or a bad day?
Yesterday brought me to tears of gratitude. It was a day filled with challenges that showed me all the love in my life. I think I would have called this a bad day for most of my life and am grateful today to know that every day is a great day.

  • If you completely love yourself, you will completely love life and others.
Loving others starts with first loving yourself. Inner reality determines outer reality. In other words. how you feel about others is a reflection of how you feel about yourself. We all have control over our own inner reality, so once you start loving yourself you can start to love others and appreciate life no matter what your circumstances may be.

  • You cannot give what you do not have, especially as a parent.
As a teacher and consultant, I have learned first hand that you cannot give what you do not have. I am thankful to have had the opportunity to learn this before becoming a parent, because I now know that I must lead by example if I am going to be a good role model for my child. If I want my child to be happy, successful, peaceful and live a life of service, then I must show her from what I am doing in my own life.

  • Doing less is my secret to producing more.
If you want to produce more and get more done, the surprising trick I learned is when I do less I produce more. Now you may wonder, how is this possible? In the past, I would take on as much work as I possibly could because I wanted to feel busy. This would often lead to me prioritizing things that were closest to becoming due, and neglecting work that didn't have to be done right away. Everything I would do felt rushed, and the quality of my work suffered. Instead of taking on as much work as possible, I now try and focus on producing content for my Udemy courses and my YouTube channel. The result has been work that has produced more for me in terms of income, and more substantial content for my students. Taking the time to focus on a few things has greatly increased the quality of what I produce. Thank you for taking the time to be here with me, and I appreciate your feedback!

  • Saying I am sorry when I am wrong and then fixing it has made all of my relationships healthy and happy
If you want to have healthy relationships in your life the key is to do as much good for the relationship, and admit when you are wrong. When you are selfish and inconsiderate to the other person, you will quickly sabotage your relationship with them. In the past, I would struggle to admit when I was wrong. Because of this, I didn't have the best relationships, and I would often hold grudges over stupid and petty little things. Today, I try and always take responsibility for my mistakes, and always apologize when I am selfish or inconsiderate. Not only does this help to maintain healthy, productive relationships with the people I love, but it also takes the weight off of my chest knowing that I did the right thing. Thank you for taking the time to be here with me, and I appreciate your feedback!
