Danielle had sad news to share, her 'baby' Loki passed away. He'd been ill and fighting it, but it finally overtook him and he went to cat heaven. Danielle talks about what happened and the effect it had on her other cats. Elizabeth talked about a new way the vet revealed to her about pilling a cat and her cats' weird behavior. They went on to talk about Spring being on the way and the expected deluge of new kittens, and Danielle discussed her work with Tommy's Cat Rescue. Elizabeth touched on how she went to Podfest in January and met some of their prior guests there, like Julie Marty Pearson. The conversation went on, if you ever have a question for Danielle or Elizabeth they'll be happy to answer it. It's time for the holidays and Danielle and Elizabeth dressed up for their 52nd episode, yes, it's been a year since they started this podcast for cat lovers! Danielle's antlers weren't behaving but they were still fun anyway... Danielle filled us all in on what happened to Loki after he licked the poisonous plant - he's fine now, but it was terrifying. Suffice it to say that Danielle checked every plant in her house, and if they posed a threat to cats, they were gone immediately. They went on to chat about their other cats and their strange cat behavior.  They went on to talk about how fun their year of podcasting is, and how they plan to take a break because it is a lot of work. They asked for support from the community to hire a part time assistant, like Elizabeth has for the Passage to Profit radio show and podcast she does with her husband Richard. Did Danielle convince her husband to sit on the Grinch's lap? Listen to find out! Elizabeth talked about her family's yearly adventures in NYC for Christmas, it's quite the magical place if you like a big city at the holidays.  Danielle talked about her support for the Arthritis Foundation and the Jingle Ball Run, then asked Elizabeth what her favorite episode was over the past year. There were so many good guests that Elizabeth brought up several and could have mentioned more! The conversation went on, if you ever have a question for Danielle or Elizabeth they'll be happy to answer it. They love cats and people, so question away! Of course we want to hear from you, we love chatting with pet parents, the more cat stories the better! We dare you to top Danielle and Elizabeth with stories about weird and funny cat behavior! Danielle and Elizabeth talk cats, fleas and worms. Yucky, but necessary. Danielle noticed fleas and worms on and in her outside cat, and the steps she took to rid her environment of them. She was pretty disgusted by those little cat tormentors, I have to say, Danielle keeps a very clean house so she was shocked when she saw signs of fleas and worms! They talked about when to take a cat to the vet and when to administer the worm medication yourself, and of course they talked about outside cats and reunion stories, as well as Tommy's Cat Rescue. Elizabeth talked about her cats and her experience with young vets and Zyrtec. Yes, a new vet at the practice told her she could give Zyrtec to Cushi, after nearly a year of her giving Zyrtec to Max, LOL. The conversation went on, they talked about their cats and taking care of them, if you ever have a question for Danielle or Elizabeth they'll be happy to answer it. Danielle and Elizabeth dove right into the conversation with Mitch Bernard on what to do if your cat goes missing. Mitch shared a number of tips and strategies, and they all told stories of cats who disappeared but returned as if nothing had happened, in typical cat like fashion. Mitch trained with the Missing Animal Response Network, and you may be able to find someone in your area who's been through the program and can help you find a lost pet. If you're missing a pet, you definitely want to listen to what Mitch has to share. She shared a lot of good advice for every step of the way. The conversation went on, if you ever have a question for Danielle or Elizabeth they'll be happy to answer it. They love cats and people, so question away! Danielle and Elizabeth dove right into the conversation with Brianna to learn about her passion for cats. Brianna shared her deep love for cats, her passion for crocheting adorable cat figurines, and her unique business, Kitten Kazoedle, that creates mini replicas of cats using their own fur. She also discusses her involvement in supporting local cat shelters and her experiences as a cat sitter. They talked about the oldest age a cat can achieve and went on to discuss their own cats and their cat personalities. Elizabeth's daughter, Lindsey, joined Danielle and Elizabeth on this episode. Lindsey is a cat lover (of course!) who recently returned from a trip to Japan. She talked about the cats in Japan, where to find them, and who feeds them. It was a short segue to talk about Max and his favorite blanket, and Lindsey's experience helping with him last winter over the holidays. She also brought up Lily, who was totally cat stand-offish until they took her to vet, where she got her lumps of stegosaurus fur shaved off of her back. Lily associated that relief with Lindsey and regularly asks her for pets now!Danielle talked about Thor and his fur issues, and how she's getting him ready for a trip to the groomer again. Elizabeth recalled Max's experience with a groomer and having nail caps put on when he was scratching himself raw. Unfortunately, he found a way around them and still was able to scratch. They talked about different ways to administer medications to their cats, Danielle has a tried and true method. The conversation moved to chipmunks in the house and what they eat, among other things. They also talked about a cat available through the Pet Adoption Network, her photo was put on Instagram by Tommys Cats Rescue, which does trap, neuter, release work with cats. They talked about taking cats hiking, some people do it, but wow!

Danielle and Elizabeth talked about their cats, which they can and will do endlessly! Elizabeth started with Cushi's vet visit. Danielle magically got another cat to foster! He loved her until he had to get his shots. It was terrifying for him! Did he ever get over it? What did Danielle learn from this? What does Max do when he senses his meds are coming? How many cats did Danielle have in her house? More than Elizabeth thought! And how did it happen? How is Danielle's sister helping with Tommy's Cats Rescue? How long should you leave wet food out? Should cats eat wet and dry food? Hear the answers to those questions and more! The conversation went on, if you ever have a question for Danielle or Elizabeth they'll be happy to answer it. Danielle started the conversation with a cat as a Yelp destination? Yep! He also has Google reviews, LOL.  Danielle brought up that there's a Home Depot in New Jersey that she visits that has its own store cat. She could go to any Home Depot, but she has to go to that one to see the cat, of course. They talked about what their cats would be famous for. Danielle talked about the world record that a cat Bella holds - wow! Listen to find out what it is!Elizabeth put forth her theory about how cats can control the feel of the fur - weird but true! Danielle talked about how she actually got to hang out with the polydactyl cats at Hemingway House in Florida. Of course they all came up to her, she's a cat magnet. Danielle and Elizabeth did a solo episode where Danielle brought up the cat that inherited 13 million dollars. But, that was only the THIRD wealthiest pet! Listen to the episode to find out which animals came in 1st and 2nd. The conversation turned to: what do cats want us to spend money on? And how picky they are about food. What would you leave to your cats? Danielle talked about the amazing candles and other items that are being sold and the company is donating 40% of sales to Tommys Cats, the rescue organization she works with. They talked about how animals predict cold weather coming, and what's going on this year with that.
