Some things just stand the test of time. Jim Gearhart's never been a fan of politically correct culture -- not when his groundbreaking morning talk show as on the airwaves of New Jersey 101.5 for 25 years, and not now.

Jim's taking a stroll down memory lane, to what became a Christmas-season tradition on the New Jersey 101.5 morning show he helmed for a quarter-century.

It hearkens back to the early 1990s, back when few people at the station had computers. "We were not very computer-savvy," Jim says.

Sure, the staff knew the basics. They knew about basic peripherals, for instance.

"We knew you had the mouse, that you could click and all. I don't think we owned one," Jim says.

Jim Gearhart says, in principle, he could actually get on board with a lot of progressive priorities -- if he thought society was ready for them.

Take immigration. He recently read a comment from someone who suggested it's time we get past our territorial nature, and let people from other countries enjoy the privledges that come with access to America. But is that realistic?

Jim thought most New Jersey colleges had escaped what he considers far-left, politically correct insanity -- but Rider College has banned Chick-Fil-A over its owners stances on LGBT rights issues.

"You know, the big loser in this election was this area of the media that is so far out left and constantly hammering away at Trump, and were trying to make this a referendum on Trump," Jim Gearhart says in the latest edition of the Jim Gearhart Show Podcast.

But despite that hammering, there was no true Blue Wave -- not one powerful enough to take the Senate along with the House, Jim says. So what's that say about the media's power?

Jim Gearhart has heard the same criticisms you have -- that President Donald Trump's rhetoric is to blame for the violence we've seen over the last few weeks. That if not for his tone, perhaps there wouldn't have been bombs sent to Democratic leaders and a horrific synagogue shooting in Pittsbugth.

"Was Donald Trump resident at Columbine? ... What about the Connecticut school shooting? ... The South Carolina church shooting, where six unfortunate people were killed in a racial incident? Where was Trump then?"
