Jim tells us he doesn't much like the idea of New Jersey's bear hunt, meant to control overpopulation in such a densely human-populated state. But, Jim says, "I also don't like the idea of the possibility of bears carrying children off, which has happened at least once across the New York state border." So what to do?

There aren't many offenses in New Jersey that don't expire under a statute of limitations. Murder and parking tickets are among them.

You'd think the point of the judicial system would be to meter out justice. But Jim Gearhart says municipal courts are nothing but a cash grab -- and he'd got the stories to back it up.

When Jim Gearhart last week -- reacting to the news President Donald Trump would be picking another Supreme Court Justice -- said America needs to get over its "national pastime of killing infants" ... you responded.

"How about we quit confusing an unthinking collection of cells with a 'baby?' Chad Weaver asked on the New Jersey 101.5 Facebook page. It was one of nearly 90 comments that came in.

"At least a quarter of pregnancies are aborted naturally," Sarah Solomon Ed Kimock Jr. said, speaking of miscarriage. Daniel Coots joined in: "A woman has the right to choose what's best for her. Why are there laws governing a women's body but none governing a man's?"

When Jim Gearhart woke up Tuesday, the first story he saw was about President Donald Trump nominating Brett Kavanaugh to replace retiring Associate Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy.

And with it, he saw announcements from women associated with the Women's March, saying the nomination "is a death sentence for thousands of women in the United States," Jim says.

"What? ... She's probably considering colleagues who are going to have apoplectic fits," Jim says.

Stripping a woman's ability to make decisions about her own body is state violence, they said.

"What the hell is abortion?" Jim asks.

Jim Gearhart has what he calls "an observation amounting to a conviction." Perhaps it's one you've experienced yourself:

"The goal of the healthcare people is to separate suffering people from their money."

You don't just got to see a doctor. You see a doctor who's part of a systems. And that system is part of a larger system. And that larger system is part of a corporation.

"And when the corporation takes over, humanity goes out the window, because it's all profit and money -- and the doctor is kind of caught in the middle of that," Jim says.

One doctor even told him point blank: "It's not about the patient and the patient's health -- it's about creating volume."

And that just gets Jim started in the latest edition of the Jim Gearhart show.

Jim Gearhart feels a little guilty.

He's as bad as anyone else about using disposable plastic bags when he goes grocery shopping. "I sometimes feel ashamed of myself for getting all these plastic bags." 

Yet Jim says the new plastic bag tax in New Jersey being won't help the environment as the government claims, but will raise money for unrelated government sectors.

"How do I know that? Well because none of this money is dedicated to anything that has anything to do with the environment or the good life. It all goes into the general fund, the trough as it was always known. It gets poured into the trough like everything else," Jim says.

We weren't hours past a deadly shooting in Trenton, New Jersey at an art show when New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy and other legislative leaders came out with public statements calling for more strict federal gun control.

And they won't do a single thing to prevent violence, Jim Gearhart says. Not when our culture is the real problem.
