It can be disheartening when we struggle to stick to a fitness program or other routine. There’s a belief that discipline equals freedom. In this episode Carter and Mo question whether this is true. They discuss the different forms of discipline, the importance of finding what works for you and questioning the ways things have always been done.

• Carter’s experience with getting covid (00:00)

• Could Carter have had covid previously and just not known it? (03:38)

• Questioning Jocko – Does discipline really equal freedom? (06:16)

• The fitness industry want you to think you don’t know anything (08:40)

• The shame around not managing to follow a program (09:11)

• Trusting you know how to work out (11:00)

• There are different forms of discipline (12:38)

• Is real discipline about knowing yourself? (15:27)

• Missing opportunities because you are singularly focused on one thing(17:06)

• People are built differently (19:09)

• Something that works for one person may not work for another (23:32)

• Questioning the way things have always been done (25:38)

• The discipline in acknowledging whether drilling is the right jiu-jitsu training for you or not (27:43)

• Thinking we’re not successful because we’re not doing what successful people are doing (31:06)

• There is discipline in showing up (33:43)
