An article claiming that “Muslims are molesting teenage girls” in Mississauga schools — which a local web publication took down over the weekend — has quickly reappeared on another website. Organizers are planning a "Clown Lives Matter" march for October 15 in Tucson in reaction to the recent spate of frightening incidents -- both real and imagined -- spread in the news and on social media. The march will be at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 15 on 4th Avenue in Tucson. Attendees are invited to show up wearing full clown makeup or masks. According to a flyer advertising the event, "this is a peaceful way to show clowns are not psycho killers. We want the public to feel safe, and not be afraid. So come out, bring the family, meet a clown and get a hug!" Is there anything wrong with Clown Lives Matter?

Deani Van Pelt from the Fraser Institute joins the show. Teacher compensation is driving up education costs in Canada even as student enrolment falls across the country, a new Fraser Institute report finds. Education spending increased by more than 41 per cent from 2004 to 2014, or from $44.3 billion to $62.6 billion — a spike of almost $18 billion. At the same time, overall enrolment declined by about 200,000 students. That means overall per-student funding has risen, the report’s authors say, and the bulk of that increase is going to teachers’ salaries, benefits and pensions.

The “killer clown” prank that’s sweeping social media has officially landed in Toronto after students at a downtown school were spooked by a person dressed as a creepy clown on Wednesday as classes were being dismissed for the day. Police say they were called to Pope Francis Catholic School near Ossington Avenue and Dundas Street West just after 3 p.m. Toronto police spokesperson Meaghan Gray told CityNews two suspects were making a video but said no charges were laid and the investigation is closed.


A spokesperson with 'Toronto Pig Save' confirmed Wednesday afternoon that animal rights activist Anita Krajnc was detained by Halton police for “trying to help injured pigs at the crash site.” However, police did not immediately confirm the identity of the person placed under arrest at the scene.

Toronto Pig Save activist Anita Krajnc joined The John Oakley Show to explain how she ended up being arrested Wednesday after a truckload of pigs overturned on its way to a Burlington slaughterhouse.

The animal rights activist is currently facing a mischief charge stemming from an incident involving a truck of pigs in 2015.
