Many times I come across people who ask me about my website, my brokerage, why I didn't join a team or come across a post online that asks about websites, changing brokerages, joining a team. I find them intriguing because I always want to know what the motivation and drivers behind the questions. 

I find that most times, not all but most times it's because business has changed and the person asking has not adapted to the change. The person is usually looking for an escape from their current reality or some form of shortcut. 

I have bad news for you, there's no such thing as a shortcut, you have to go back to the basics and put in the work. Times have slowed, not just in real estate but in general we are seeing a pull back happening right in front of our eyes. Some call it a recession or say we are heading into a recession. Maybe, maybe not but the fact still remains that you have to put in the work, changing brokerages, websites or joining a team isn't going to solve the problem. If you do what you are doing today for the next 6 months, you are going to be exactly where you are today or worse.

When people only see things that you are trying to sell them, they lose interest. People go on Social Platforms like Instagram, Facebook, Tik-Tok, Linkedin etc.... to do exactly what they're called Social Media - Being Social, engage with people they meet and see. Nobody likes to be sold to, they choose to buy from people who they know, like and trust. Only way to become that person is to get to know them by engaging with them.

Acceptance - Minute Mondays_EP_82

Today I talk about how important it is to learn to let go of things from our past. Sometimes we hold on to things because we have been done wrong, we think by not accepting the apology or that we can't accept it we are letting the other person know where we stand.

The truth in this matter is that we are punishing ourselves more than we are making that statement. I am not saying that you have to forgive and accept everyone's apologies for the wrong they have done. I am saying you can take the apology, move on with your life and not look back. Taking the apology doesn't mean that it's forgotten and you resume where you left off with that person, it means that you are letting go of the past and moving forward with your life without holding ill feelings. You can and probably should choose to move on and keep the person out of your life.

This also applies if you have done something wrong, whether intentional or accidental towards someone else. You can admit fault, show your sorry and then at that point let it go, don't keep trying to force someone to let you in if they are not ready to. Let people heal the way they need to, just don't let it stop you from your own growth. Learn from the past and work on today, grow tomorrow.

Is Social Media Bringing Opportunities or Exposing People's Reality? - Minute Mondays Ep_81

Many times we may watch how some people are acting differently when the camera is on or the phones buzzing with notifications from their social profiles. It is easy to point a finger and blame the platforms for the outcomes you see but many times the platforms not making someone perform a certain way but instead exposing their inner feelings. In a sense it's like drinking, the more a person drinks alcohol the more of their truth you see, the more integrated into the platform the more truth you see.

The good news is it doesn't have to consume you and who you are, you have the ability to use it positively and for change. It can definitely bring opportunities to you that in the past were impossible or felt impossible.

Find the opportunity and make yourself shine, embrace the positive influence you can deliver and spend less time consuming and more time creating.

Underwear Queen Emily Pyke Speaks about her Journey into Entrepreneurship - Episode 128

Like many good things in life, Bare Thrills was born out of a crisis. In this case it was an underwear crisis. We are Emily and Liz and we created Bare Thrills out of the sheer frustration of not having the right underwear to workout in. As an active couple, health and fitness are a cornerstone of our lives and we understand that what that looks like is different for everybody. For us, we love to go for bush walks and runs with our Australian kelpie, Merlot. We also do regular high intensity functional training sessions which Liz loves to balance with a couple of yoga practices a week.

Throughout all of this, we only had a small selection of underwear that we would resort to everyday, which were by no means specifically designed for that purpose. One day we realised that we were putting so much thought into choosing and buying our activewear, but not our underwear. We couldn’t find a single pair of underwear that ticked all of our boxes 😉 so we decided to design our own!
