Drivers who earn a high income would be charged for entering the city's downtown during peak times under a plan being considered by San Francisco transportation officials. 

It will take at least three to five years before the congestion pricing program can be implemented, said the San Francisco County Transportation Agency. But the agency plans to present their policy recommendations by the end of 2021. 

If approved, drivers making more than $100,000 a year would need to pay $6.50 when entering the downtown area on weekdays during the morning and evening rush hours. 

The SFCTA proposed congestion pricing zone would include the Financial District, South of Market, Chinatown, and Tenderloin. They are also considering expanding the zone to include Mission Bay and North of Broadway.

With the recent surge of COVID-19 cases and the spread of the delta variant, Disneyland announced that guests and cast members will be required to wear face masks indoors at all locations starting tomorrow. 

Guests 2 years and older will have to wear masks regardless of their vaccination status. Face coverings will be required “upon entering and throughout many attractions and in enclosed transportation vehicles, including shuttles and buses.”

DeSantis' latest out-of-state appearance came in Salt Lake City Utah in which he railed against CDC recommendations on COVID-19. "Did you not get the CDC's memo?" he laughed. "I didn't see any of you guys complying." The governor got big laughs from the conservative audience regarding the CDC's renewed recommendation to wear masks. He also made fun of the CDC's new recommendation that masks be worn in schools.

A Florida county school board voted on Wednesday to require students, staff and visitors to wear masks inside its schools, directly conflicting with Gov. Ron DeSantis’s (R) stance that schools should not impose mask mandates.

President Joe Biden will announce on Thursday a requirement that all federal employees and contractors be vaccinated against Covid-19, or be required to submit to regular testing and mitigation requirements, according to a source with direct knowledge of the matter.

The announcement will come in remarks where Biden is also expected to lay out a series of new steps, including incentives, in an attempt to spur new vaccinations as the Delta variant spreads rapidly throughout the country. It will also follow the decision by the Department of Veterans Affairs to require its frontline health care workers to be vaccinated over the course of the next two months.

The Senate voted on Wednesday to take up a bipartisan $1 trillion infrastructure deal, as Republicans joined Democrats to pave the way for action on a crucial piece of President Biden’s agenda.

The 67-to-32 vote, which included 17 Republicans in favor, came just hours after centrist senators in both parties and the White House reached a long-sought compromise on the bill, which would provide about $550 billion in new federal money for roads, bridges, rail lines, transit projects, water systems and other physical infrastructure programs.
