But it wasn’t just their lifestyle choices that offended so many - the group has been linked to the traffic of young girls to other Mormon communities in the United States and has been accused of grooming children for marriage to much older men.

Chapter 9:
-Fresh data released by Statistics Canada shows where the highest rates of non-resident ownership are in BC and Canada. It shows the resort municipalities of Sun Peaks (17%) and Whistler (15.5%) have a high proportion of non resident property owners, as well as the UBC Endowment Lands (or Electoral Area A, at 14%). StatsCan unveiled data showing both the cities of Vancouver and Richmond have a non-resident ownership rate just above 7%.
