Ride hailing drivers are hesitant to enter the community of Surrey, just days after ride hailing was approved across most of Metro Vancouver. Supply could barely keep up with demand as everyone seemed to want to give the new Uber and Lyft options a try.

Surrey councillor Jack Hundial has been a vocal advocate for ride hailing. He took advantage of the new transportation option over the weekend, and also offered to pay the fine for the first operator who bylaw officers target.

West Van councilor taking on racist land titles

A West Vancouver city councillor is looking to remove racist language from the land titles of the multi-million dollar homes that line the streets of the British Properties.

The upscale area was marketed to Caucasian buyers, who signed land titles with the following covenant:

“No person of the African or Asiatic race or African of Asiatic descent — except servants of the occupier of the premises in residence — shall reside or be allowed to remain on the premises.”

The news that NBA superstar Kobe Bryant had died, shocked the world. Kobe and his daughter Giana were two of the occupants of a helicopter which crashed just outside of Los Angeles, killing everyone on board.

Victoria city council is calling on the province to provide no-cost birth control

The city of Victoria has voted unanimously to ask the province to move forward on funding contraception under the Medical Services Plan.
