After tragic events unfolded in Toronto, the people in the city are getting a little boost thanks to some of the local sports teams being very successful.

The province wants the B.C. Court of Appeal to decide whether British Columbia has the legal right to restrict the flow of bitumen by pipeline or rail through the province.

More news is coming to light about the Marijuana legislation that is going to be set in place, eventually.

The father of a Toronto police officer who arrested the suspect in a van attack that left 10 dead and 14 injured is praising his son for doing “a good job.”  Just before 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Toronto police said 25-year-old Alek Minnasian rented a van and drove it to the Yonge Street and Finch Avenue area. Det. Sgt. Graham Gibson said on Tuesday the accused drove south on Yonge Street “striking pedestrians on the sidewalk and the roadway with the vehicle.” Story

New legislation will allow municipalities to zone for rental only housing and will require municipalities to compile reports on housing needs. The Vancouver Sun's Vaughn Palmer is here with his take on the day's headlines.

Finance minister Carole James says new legislation unveiled yesterday will give municipalities greater control over rental housing, in a bid to ease the housing crisis.  Story

The B.C. government has introduced legislation that would allow municipalities to zone areas for rental developments only. Local governments currently do not have the ability to create that type of zoning.
