-The father of a Toronto police officer who arrested the suspect in a van attack that left 10 dead and 14 injured is praising his son for doing “a good job.” Just before 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Toronto police said 25-year-old Alek Minnasian rented a van and drove it to the Yonge Street and Finch Avenue area. Det. Sgt. Graham Gibson said on Tuesday the accused drove south on Yonge Street “striking pedestrians on the sidewalk and the roadway with the vehicle.” Story

-A forum will be held in Ottawa tonight, examining the implications of the Chinese government buying up corporations in Canada. The federal government is currently considering whether to allow a Chinese state owned firm to buy Aecon Group Limited, a major player in the construction industry.
-The Queen is offering her condolences to the families and friends of the people killed in Monday's van attack in Toronto. The statement issued early this morning says quote, ``Prince Philip and I join all Canadians in expressing our sadness following the terrible tragedy that occurred in Toronto.'' Now people are asking how much authorities can protect us and when do we have to start being more vigilant?

-The motive behind the van attack allegedly perpetuated by Toronto man 25 year old Alek Manassian remains unclear. Police are still investigating a Facebook post purportedly written by Manassian, in which he refers to ‘Chads’ and ‘Staceys’ and appears to celebrate Elliot Rodger, a young man who went on a murderous rampage in California, and complained of being a virgin at age 22.
