-Another successful CKNW Orphans’ Fund pledge day is in the books.  The 40th annual pledge drive will be headed to the bank, too, after bringing in nearly $1.3 million to help B.C. kids in need.

Chapter 2:

-Here's a novel idea: people need to pitch in and help solve homelessness and not just leave it up to politicians.  That's what a community advocate in Surrey is suggesting.  An estimated 300 homeless live within a four block radius in the Whalley area, within clear view of Surrey city hall.

-One Michigan candidate for Attorney General has an idea of how to end sexual harassment in the workplace - vote for someone without a penis!

Chapter 4:

- Port Coquitlam Mayor Greg Moore says he won’t be seeking re-election next year.  In a statement released Tuesday evening, Moore said he was calling it quits after a 16-year run in civic politics and “will be moving on to a different career path using all that I have gained from this incredible experience.”

Chapter 7:

-Wow, what a day! Yesterday was the 40th Anniversary of Pledge Day - an entire day of fundraising with the goal of helping BC kids in need through the CKNW Orphan’s Fund. But the big question is...how much money was raised?

Chapter 8:

- Derek Dorestt will not be returning to the Vancouver Canucks  as it has been deemed too big of a health risk to let him play.

Chapter 9:

- As wonderful as it is to give to others if you do not give health to yourself first you will not have the ability to give a lot to others.

Chapter 10:

-It looks like the White House is thinking about ousting U.S Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, who in the past has had a roller coaster relationship with the President.

Transport Canada registration data shows the plane missing in the B.C. interior is registered to Dominic Neron from Spruce Grove, Alta. The JRCC held a press conference with Capt. Dave Mansi in Esquimalt Monday afternoon.

The term “Fake News” is something we all chuckle about now, but it’s actually a pretty serious issue.  The Washington post is being hailed after an undercover sting operation showed just how much care they take in making sure they report the news accurately.

The City of Vancouver has given the green light to a controversial modular housing project in the Marpole neighbourhood.  The facility, which would see 78 units of transitional housing built for the city’s homeless, is to be situated next to three public schools.  That location has drawn vocal opposition from some in the neighbourhood, who argue it will bring drugs and crime to a school zone.

BC residents are very concerned about fish farms in the province.  Now, the concern has spread to processing plants after photos of a pipe releasing effluent into Discovery Passage channel off of Vancouver Island has been brought to light.
