The Girl Scouts are asking families to not encourage little girls to give hugs this holiday season.  They say that teaching girls to hug someone, leads to them feeling a sense of obligation to hug men later on in life.

The flames at Whistler Olympic village could be lit again after the latest Calgary city council meeting on Monday.  City council voted to study venues outside Calgary to save money, including the possibility of using venues from the 2010 Winter Games in Whistler.

Parents and families attended a rally in support of the sexual orientation and gender identity curriculum in B.C. schools.  PFLAG Vancouver President Colin McKenna says they’ve noticed SOGI 123 has been getting a lot of push back in the Fraser Valley.  He says some parents need to understand how this curriculum makes all students feel safe at school.

There is a new report out that says "shaming" your kids can have adverse effects on your child.  It also says that when talking about "fat shaming", it doesn't help adults to lose weight.

B.C.’s health minister says the province will cover the costs of an expensive drug used to treat a rare autoimmune disease on a case-by-case basis.  Soliris is used to treat atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome (aHUS), a disease that is characterized by renal failure (when the kidneys stop working), issues related to red blood cell counts, and vascular troubles. It costs around $750,000 a year.

A group is calling on the government to investigate the paradise papers a little more closely.  They say some wealthy Canadians are skirting taxes and not paying enough to properly help fund Canadian programs through government taxes.
