The Mounties have reached an agreement with China to try and halt the transpacific flow of Fentanyl into Canada.  R-C-M-P Commissioner Bob Paulson and Chen Zhimin, the vice-minister of China's public security ministry, have agreed to boost efforts to disrupt the flow of Fentanyl and other opioids.  Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodale says the agreement comes on the heels of a meeting of Canadian and Chinese officials last week and the prime minister's recent talks with his Chinese counterpart.

It was an eye opening experience for six members of the WHL's Kelowna Rockets -- who got a first hand look at life on Vancouver's Downtown Eastside. The players went as a part of the "Odd Squad" program: meeting locals fighting drug addiction -- and taking their stories back to Kelowna High Schools. Looking 5 years into the future -----  ICBC  is projecting that BC drivers could be paying 40-percent more for auto insurance. ICBC has delivered a trio of forecasts to the BC Utilities commission -- one of them showing possible rate hikes of six -- eight -- and even nine percent in coming years.

Transport Minister Todd Stone says the projections are based on an extreme, worst case, hypothetical situation. One suggestion was also made to do-away with insuring luxury cars worth over 150 thousand.
