The Vancouver School Board voted Monday night to suspend the potential closure of 11 schools.  Is it time to fire the VSB and clean up the mess that has been left over the last couple of months.

The Vancouver School Board voted Monday night to suspend the potential closure of 11 schools.  Vision VSB Trustee Patti Bacchus says all consultations planned for the next few weeks have been cancelled.  NPA VSB Trustee Fraser Ballantyne says it is good news for parents, but the board still has work to do.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has announced Canada-wide carbon pollution pricing as part of a national strategy to reduce emissions. Under the new plan, all Canadian jurisdictions will have carbon pricing in place by 2018.  The Vancouver Sun's Vaughn Palmer is here with his take on the day's headlines.

Sales of detached homes have plummeted, but home prices continue to rise year-over-year in Metro Vancouver’s heated housing market. Metro Vancouver home sales are down 32.6% in September on year-over-year basis, and were down 9.5% from August. But the average sale price is up 28.9% to almost $932-thousand dollars. That’s the latest from the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver.
