He had the potential to be one of the greatest sporting talents this country has produced, but was instead consumed by alcohol.

Sione has now taken life by the horns and is in control of the ship and has recently released a book telling his story and how he was won the battle against the drink.

Its a great story but one we can also learn a lot from. Please take some time to listen I think we can all draw from Sione's experience and his learnings.

Dominic Harvey is the legendary breakfast show host on the Edge radio station. There is more than meats the eye to ole Dom and for a long time I wanted to suck out what makes him so good. I managed to drill down on how he is so creative day in day out, manage his time to run marathons and be the fittest in his life, understand his creative process, review his massive collection of books and best of all have a great laugh.

Dom is a top block, a GC if you will and he has a lot to give. I haven't meet many people more well read than Dom so there is a lot to learn in this episode.

The original plan was to record the podcast in the spa but turned out my laptop isn't water proof. Anyway I stilled managed to stuff up the recording and thought all hope was lost.

Fauono Ken Laban is a Greater Wellington Regional Councillor, has sat on the Hutt Valley District Health Board, organises the annual Hutt Valley Sports Awards, a Wellington Rugby Board member, Sky Sport commentator, runs rugby clinics for the up and coming junior players, sits on and runs various school and community boards and is a Father and Grandfather.

Last year he commentated 83 games of rugby.

"Tomorrow's stars today" is the catch phrase for Landover XV rugby that Ken coined some years ago.

The catch phrase encapsulates Ken's passion for community, broadcasting, family, growth and protecting the game whether that be Rugby Union or League; this is his legacy.

Ken has been a mentor to so many and hasn’t just guided myself into rugby broadcasting but also gave Sumo Scotty Stevenson his start.

The Laban family was one of the first Samoan families in Wainuiomata and we chat about what it was like growing up in the community and the impact it had on him along with attending Scott’s College in Wellington.

You will hear the passion and intensity in Ken’s voice when we talk about his passions and what motivates him. It’s contagious.

This time I was fortunate enough to chat with Bree Peters. The New Zealand actress is now residing in LA after a long stint working on Shortland street as an acting coach then playing the role of Pania who went on to kill her husband in the show.

Bree then suffered the wrath of social media in which she explains was a very tough time.

The daughter of New Zealand first politician Winston Peters describes her journey in the acting industry and we talk about her outstanding resiliency when dealing adversity and anxiety.

Bree is a person who can light up any room and is a natural in any situation and as you can tell we have a lot of fun.

Ric has been the All Blacks Media Liaison Officer in what some say was the golden era of All Black rugby. He produced the legendary documentary The Good The Bad and the Rugby which was a behind the scenes look at what went on when the All Blacks were on tour in the late 80's.

Fast forward a few years and Ric came up with an idea for a sports show that turned out to feature some of New Zealand's most iconic TV moments...The Sports Cafe. Ric also went on to produce the long running and successful show The Crowd Goes Wild.

Always looking for new challenges, Ric decided he wanted to capture our kiwi culture and talk to some of our legendary icons such as Sir Colin Meads, Pita Sharples and Rhys Darby to find out what it means to be a New Zealander and the values we hold. His book titled "I Know This To Be True" is an absolute masterpiece and should be regarded as a national treasure. It looks fantastic on the coffee table and is an amazing read.
