Once Again, we have to talk about vicarious Trauma as we have experienced Traumatic events all over again.
I feel sad and angry that is where I am mentally. Where are you mentally?
Daunte Wright Murdered by a police officer. She mistaken her gun from her Taser. That’s the excuse this time. This is some real modern-Day Lynching.
I cant take it no more as I am preparing this episode I just felt a another feeling that feeling is fear. I have a 16-year-old son who wants to live a free life and once again I have to call him because he is in North Carolina. I had to tell him to be viligent I have to tell him to be careful. Once again I have to tell him about the dangers of the very humans that is supposed to protect him. I have to tell him that he has to look out for them obey them put his hands up at all times don’t grab anything .Those whom I am speaking about is the POLICE . Yes, be careful son they will kill you. You’re a threat. You are a threat even if you don’t do anything wrong. The reason you are threat to them is because You are Black. You are 6 foot 4 . That’s why you are a threat. Whoosa GOD I am scared please protect my child Please protect our children, please protect our melonated people.
I am now saying that I am not calling the police no more even when a crime is being commited because they may kill the person, I am now saying I going to call the fire department in the event of an emergency. We never heard of the fire men to harm anyone. This is sad we should never be scared to call the police because they were hired to protect and serve not kill melonated people.
I know so many are traumatized and retraumatized because of the events happening around the world. We have lost so many by the hands of the police just to name a few Tamir Rice, Amud Aubrey George Floyd Brianna Taylor, Eric Gardner Sandra Bland Sean bell . OMG but this one reminds of Philando Castile . that’s where that vicarious trauma come in. We can think of one old incident and relate it to a current incident and that current incidents Dante Wright.
This week’s episode is dedicated to the healing of our people. This episode is dedicated to all those whom lost their lives at the hands of the police. This Episode is dedicated to Daunte and the entire wright family and Adam Toledo family as he was the 13 year old shot in Chicago 13 omg what is this world coming to.
We all experience traumatic events in our lives from time to time. Trauma has no boundaries as it affects us all regardless of age, race, or gender. Trauma impacts not only an individual’s physical health, but also takes a toll on a person’s mental health too. Because not all traumatic experiences are the same, there are different treatment strategies that can be used to treat individuals.
It’s important to know the difference between acute trauma, chronic trauma complex trauma.
This week I want us to dive into to the different types of trauma.
I want us to learn exactly why type of trauma we endured during our traumatic event. I can tell you at this time we are experiencing vicarious trauma when police continue to kill children unjustifiably it falls under Complex Trauma
