This week, we explore our coverage of National Food Month along side Travel Butler County. We delivered all kinds of fun Jungle Jim's themed treats to influencers all over the land, and even got on the news a few times. Then, we play a game invented by a customer to try out some of our strange and weird sodas in the store! The Weird Soda Sip-Off is upon us! But first, I'm joined by my friend Mandy to try out the brand new Mtn Dew Summer Freeze that just landed here at the Jungle.

Wonderful Pistachio asked me if they could come on the show and announce their new flavor, and I agreed - but ONLY if they could successfully throw the new flavors into my mouth. How's their aim? Find out as Jinesh shoots some free throws on me with their new Salt and Pepper pistachios. Then, I'm joined by the team at Ish and if you're unfamiliar, Ish is a Cincinnati-based community engagement organization centering Jewish arts and cultural traditions as a platform for connecting artists with communities to create new experiences, like their Mimouna festival happening this week in Cincinnati, where South American culture meets Jewish culture. I start by checking out Citybeat Magazine's Best of Cincinnati event, but then I get to sit down with Bob Pennington before he comes into the Jungle on April 19th for Whiskey and War Stories. Here's a little about Bob: Robert “Bob” Pennington served in the U.S. Army for 26 as a Green Beret and retired as Chief Warrant Officer 4. Bob was a member of the ODA 595 Special Forces team that was the first to land in Afghanistan in response to the attacks on our country on 9/11. Their historic and unconventional warfare experience earned them the moniker, “The Horse Soldiers”, and has been brought to life in the Hollywood film, “12 Strong”, as well in other numerous leading books, and documentaries. We kick the week off with a cute fan drawing, then bring Oswaldo into the studio to show off a new product that he made in-house here at Jungle Jim's for the masses - chamoy and tajin peach rings. Then we're joined by Ande the Elf of the "Wake the Farm Up!" podcast to talk about permaculture while we sample local products like chips from Hen of the Woods, and kombucha from Fab Ferments! This week, I get my first piece of fanmail and open it on the show. Later, Anthony "Tank" Mansfield of "What Ya Into" podcast and Six Bomb Boards comes in to pitch us on having him make art at future Jungle Jim's events, so let us know what you think! Then I dive into my first official version of a segment I call "Imports Vs. Domestics" where I pit Totino's Pizza Rolls against Laxmi's Tandoori Paneer Samosas, and only one can be victorious! Lastly, we're joined by Maria Keck to perform some of her flute loop music!

I sit down with Del Hall of 16 Lots Brewing Co to talk about his FIFTH year doing a beer-only lenten fast for charity. You can learn some of his best tips, some of the worst parts about the fast, and what it's like to get a phone call from the Vatican. We also hold a short memorial for some sauces from Burger Beast, and try out a few new treats from Korea!

This week, we try out a sushi bake from Oishii Sushi Bakes (@OishiiSushiBakes on instagram) sourced from us here at Jungle Jim's, then we sit down with our director of development, Phill Adams, to talk about the expansion while introducing us to some students from Miami University who were working on a project inside our store.
