God loves justice because God is love. He hears the cries of his children and calls us to stop sex trafficking, labor slavery, and extreme poverty. But joining God in his work of setting things right in the world requires divine strength that we simply can't conjure.

Kristen Deede Johnson is associate professor of theology and Christian formation at Western Theological Seminary in Holland, Michigan. She teaches and writes in the areas of theology, culture, formation, and political theory.
