What is HOME? There will be 100 answers if there are 100 people. In this episode, the host Ayane and the guest Kamiko discuss about being away from home with their definition of home and what home means in life. As you know, APU has an environment high in diversity with people from all around the world. It means, probably most of the people in APU already left their first homes with families. Then, we would like you to think with us, about what is home, and what happens when you cannot feel like home.

Going to a new destination for an exchange program, especially during COVID times can be daunting. Yet, our courageous guests, this time, shared with us how and why it can be a worthwhile experience with many doors of opportunity opening. It is not so very often that there is a chance to hear perspectives of both outbound and inbound exchange students at once. Our guests, Karina and Koen, compared and contrasted their unique and useful insights from their overseas exchange program on matters ranging from academics and extracurriculars to non-university related pursuits and practical advice for others considering going on an exchange. So, check the episode out and feel free to leave your comments or questions for us and our guests.

Decision-making is in itself a hard process and, as young adults, we experience that in our day-to-day lives as well. After-graduation plans require an even more rigorous thinking process. To alleviate our student-life concerns a bit and to assist the decision-making processes all of us go through, we talked to two of our senpais, got to know their experience, challenges, lessons and asked for their advice . In this episode, we discussed matters ranging from finances to post-graduation options, from a bigger picture view on after-APU life to small nostalgic moments at APU. Give it a listen to this useful extra-interesting episode and share your thoughts with us.

In this episode we continued this month's theme of pride with conversations in English. This episode is especially special because it is a collaboration episode with Equal APU, a circle in APU that works towards spreading awareness about pride and providing a safe space for open discussion. We have two very special guests who have joined us for this episode, Samara from Equal APU and Raz from our very own Kaiwa Podcast team. Together we talked on topics related to gender fluidity, Gender in Japan, Gender and APU and a lot more. We were able to create a comfortable space without judgement. We also hope that all our listeners are able to find their own version of comfort through our conversations :)
Equal APU is all about advocating for gender equality, empowerment, and LGBTQIA+ acceptance. So, I hope you keep an eye on us and join our cause! If you want to learn more, you can send a DM to our account (@equal.apu) or to me <3

June is Pride Month, and we are having Karin as our guest to discuss about gender! This episode purposes to let people know that the Pride Month is not only relevant for LGBTQIA+ people, but for everyone. We also shared our experiences as an individual's opinion, not an advice, in order to arouse your thoughts about your own gender through our episode. We mainly talked about gender and same-sex marriage in Japan. Hope you enjoy it!
