Do you keep your word? Do you always do the things you say you're going to do?

Good. To others, yeah? How about yourself?

How often do you keep your promises to yourself? That book you've been meaning to read, that routine you had to build, that new diet you've been putting away?

I think if we started having contracts with our selves, we would become more accountable and probably remain happier as we'd waste less time attending to everyone else before ourselves.

Episode 13 - Redefining The Loving Creative

Where do ideas come from? And how do they appear in the mind? Do they bulge like popping colors spreading through the brain like a happy virus? Or do they start as a drop of ink, spreading with Brownian motion through the whole container?

The Loving Creative Podcast has come a long way since the first time I recorded my voice and put it online now, I find myself consolidating my ideas and thinking not just long-term, but now I can focus my multiple interests into few locations for anyone to interact with.

In this episode ( which I originally titled "An Hour-Long PSA") I will be laying out to you what the plan is, and what you should be expecting from the podcast - and me.

As I create more this year, you may ( or may not) notice that I am working on implementing more structure such as lists, schedules and even boundaries on how long my pieces should be.

This is because I believe in the order in chaos necessary for creation.

Emmanuel Nsanyui has never left Cameroon. At least, not physically. But his YouTube channel - Emma's Top 10- has over 25 000 subscribers around the world tuning in 2 to 3 times a week for his Educational content. Proof of his success can be seen in his 1 Million views (and counting) and the fact that he's able to cover his bills with his YouTube Ad revenue.

Is it possible to build a thriving YouTube channel within a country with unreliable internet and power? Is it possible where society doesn't even believe 'doing YouTube' is a viable career option? How did this future lawyer end-up making videos online?

That's why I sought to chat with Emma. He was such a joy to discuss with.

Leslie Meya caught my eye in 2013, before she caught my friendship. 6 Years later, we're still having fun together and now both experiencing America as immigrants. I came for love, and she came through a coveted route, by most Cameroonian standards. I find it funny that for the unrecorded hours Leslie and I have talked in the past, we had do this 'short' episode. This episode was recorded the week my wife was graduating, which was why Leslie was in Colorado in the first place. 

We'll be back in the future with more when she's settled into the US, I can promise you that.

Elena Tucker and I became friends through Medium. I found an article she'd written about her city--Aurora, CO-- which also happens to be...MY CITY ( at the time anyway). A few clicks away, and on a beautiful Thursday afternoon ( or was it Tuesday?) we had the first of many coffees.

She has the most hilarious stories steeped in her devotion to her family and spiritual journey. The first time we met, although we couldn't look or sound anymore different than we already are, it was amazing to find out that we had shared feelings about America, immigration, family, careers and life in general. Especially since we both love reading and writing.

Brenda Herrera Moreno is an amazing person. This was our longest conversation and the first we've had without our mutual friends. I had such a great time listening to her story and her take on the world she's building.
