Welcome to the kbbreview Podcast, your host as always is Andy Davies and this is Episode Three of Season Eight.
And we're very pleased to say we have another in our not-particularly-organised series on digital marketing for kitchen and bathroom independent retailers.
So we have the return of Josh Delane from The Wood Works and we know how many of you have found his insight and very practical advice really valuable so yes, he's back!
Last time (and you can find links to all the relevant episodes below) we were talking about how to make the most of Google Ads and this time we're doing the natural partner of that…Facebook Ads.
Loads of you probably do them already but Josh has, again, very practical ways of making them work and really drive leads to you, and also how to measure those results and take subsequent action.
And Josh, as always, uses his own kitchen business as the example so it's about as relevant as it gets.

Welcome to the kbbreview Podcast, yout host is Andy Davies and this is episode two of Season Eight and after last week's awards extravaganza - which, incidentally, we highly recommend listening to if you haven't heard it yet - we're getting back to basics.
We're looking at a simple question - if you've done a new kitchen or bathroom for a client, and somewhere down the line, one of the products fails in some way, who is going to take responsibility for sorting it out?
The supplier might simply send a new one out from the warehouse, who should pay to take the broken one out and fit the new one? Where does that supplier's liability begin and end, and, ultimately, does it all fall back on the retailer who needs to put their reputation and customer service above all, even if it puts them out of pocket.
To unpick all the permutations, I'll be joined by a couple of very experienced retailers - Michael Lloyd from Inspired Bathrooms & Kitchens on the Wirral and Elizabeth Pantling-Jones from Lima Kitchens in Milton Keynes.
And they have some proper nightmare stories of just this kind of thing happening to them.

Welcome to The kbbreview Podcast, this is Episode One of Season Eight!
And we're kicking it off in style with this, our final special episode all about The kbbreview Retail & Design Awards 2023.
Andy Davies presents the show LIVE from the awards event in Cardiff and that means you can hear all the winners announced as it happened with top host Joel Dommett and Andy catches up with some of those winners moments after they come off stage.
It's the perfect way to start the new season!
And it's a final huge thank you to our 2023 Awards Podcast Partner Sonas Bathrooms, it's been great having them on board and following their journey as they launch into the UK after such success in their native Ireland. You can find out all about them at sonasbathrooms.co.uk

Welcome to the kbbreview Podcast and this, the penultimate episode in our special bonus series all about the kbbreview Retail & Design Awards 2023.
There's now less than a week to go before the big night in Cardiff on April 20th and the final episode in the series will be coming from the event itself where, hopefully, we'll be catching up with winners, judges, and any other industry luminaries we can pin down.
But for today we're meeting another couple of finalists, and this time we're at the sharp end of the retail categories with Sofia Bune from Sola Kitchens in London - they're up for Kitchen Showroom of the Year and Michael Queen from Thistle KItchens and Bathrooms in Aberdeen - they're on the shortlist for Bathroom Retailer of the Year.
We're be hearing all about what makes their businesses tick as they talk to kbbreview editor Rebecca Nottingham.
And, important caveat as always, just because they're here doesn't mean they've won!
A massive thank you as always to our awards Podcast Partner for 2023, Sonas Bathrooms. Their very generous support is making this special series happen. If you're unfamiliar with them, they're a very well established and successful supplier in their native Ireland and they've just launched over here in the UK. Definitely one to watch so thank you again to them and you can find out all about them at sonasbathrooms.co.uk

Welcome to another very special episode of The kbbreview Podcast all about the kbbreview Retail & Design Awards 2023.
In these bonus shows we're hearing from some of our 2023 judges and finalists and getting to know them and their stories ahead of the big ceremony in Cardiff on Thursday April the 20th.
In this episode we meet an experienced hand…and a rising star. We have Phil Beechinor, from Alexanders in Worthing, they're up for Installation Company of the Year and then Rosie Proto from Pier 1 Bathrooms in Brighton. She's in the running for Rising Star of the Year - the award for those under 30 making a big impact in their business.
And if you want to know how big an impact she's having, she's also a finalist in the Bathroom Designer of the Year: project cost up to £10,000 category.
Chris Frankland from kbbreview is talking to them but here's the quick caveat - just because they're on this podcast doesn't mean they've won, we're just all about the interesting stories on here.
A huge thanks to our awards Podcast Partner for 2023 - Sonas Bathrooms. They're very generously supporting these special shows so you have them to thank for making them happen. If you're unfamiliar with Sonas Bathrooms then they're a very successful Irish company who have just launched themselves over here in the UK with their great range of stylish products for independent retailers. Go over to sonasbathrooms.co.uk to find out everything about them.
Over to Chris, Phil and Rosie…

Welcome to The kbbreview Podcast, your host is Andy Davies and this is Episode Ten of Season Seven and, more importantly, that makes it the last full episode of this season.
We're going to round it off with another awards bonus later in the week but, yes, this is the last full show before we take a bit of a break to, you know, do some proper work.
But to round off Season Seven, we're off to Germany. Frankfurt to be precise as last week saw the return of ISH, the huuuuge bathroom exhibition where all the biggest brands launch their latest products and concepts.
Our roving reporter there is kbbreview editor Rebecca Nottingham so we'll be catching up with her live at the show, and we'll be hearing some of the interviews she's done while she's there with the likes of Hansgrohe, VitrA, Laufen and Kaldewei.
This is top level stuff that will shape the design trends, product capabilities and industry strategy for the next couple of years so it's massively relevant for you if you sell bathrooms but also anyone interested in how big business is approaching this sector in general.
You can find all the episodes of Season Seven here

Welcome to The kbbreview Podcast, your host as always is Andy Davies and this is a very special bonus episode of the show.
We're talking to Martin Mongan, the CEO of the Bristan Group - he's an incredibly experienced player in the UK bathroom market of course so we're getting his views on what's happening in the sector. We'll also be catching up specifically on Heritage Bathrooms, who are very kindly our Bathroom Sponsor for Season Seven,
Heritage has been a leading brand in the UK market for nearly 40 years and they've just had a huge launch of new products, but as we'll hear, there's so much more to it than just that.
You can get a proper look at all those new products by going to heritagebathrooms.com

Welcome to The kbbreview Podcast, this is episode nine of season seven and today we're talking about that mostly prickly of symbiotic relationships - the one between retailers and suppliers.
One of the most frequently used requests is that it should be a 'partnership', but what exactly does that mean?
What's the difference between a 'partnership' and a simple transactional placement of orders? Are partnerships all about the people rather than the company?
Should partnerships come from formal service level agreements or is it much more about gut feeling - you simply know when it's working and when it's not.
To discuss it all we have the return of two podcast stalwarts, Paul Crow from Ripples and Tony Robson from DayTrue in London.
Don't forget you can go back and listen to all the previous episodes of The kbbreview Podcast by going here.
And to listen to our special bonus podcast series all about the kbbreview Retail & Design Awards you can go here.

Welcome to another of our very special bonus podcast episodes all about the kbbreview Retail & Design Awards 2023.
In this series, we're building up to the event itself by meeting some of the finalists and judges that obviously play such an essential part in the biggest KBB industry gathering of the year.
It's in Cardiff on Thursday April 20th and the room will be packed with retailers, designers, suppliers and influencers from across the industry. So if you want to be there then it may already be too late but it's always worth heading to kbbreview.com/awards and seeing if any tickets have become available.
And this is a special episode as we're meeting our design category judges.
There's a bathroom judging panel and a totally different kitchen judging panel, and they meet on different days and in different locations. So we took the chance to get some thoughts from them for this very podcast.
These special bonus episodes are all made possible by our Awards 2023 Podcast Partner Sonas Bathrooms. They're a really influential and successful brand over in their native Ireland and they've just launched here in the UK with a great range of really stylish products. You can find out more about them including how to become a Sonas dealer at sonasbathrooms.co.uk

Are you a designer who sells or a salesperson that designs?
That's the big question in this episode of The kbbreview Podcast.
Your host as always is Andy Davies and we're asking how important is it for designers to have straight sales skills, and should they be trained in that specifically? Or should the creativity of the designs themselves do all the selling?
We're be talking to Jonny Wing from KCA in Berkshire and also the triumphant return of kbbreview columnist Toby Griffiin from kbbsupport.com.
