It's hard to believe, but the landmark Roebling Suspension Bridge could have been torn down just thirty years after it opened. The bridge was in need of repairs in order to accommodate the growing dependence on electric streetcars. But, one engineer's bold proposal stood out from the others who recommended razing. Instead, the bridge would be strengthened in a project that made it what we know today. The three candidates for Bellevue mayor joined RCN's Michael Monks for a wide-ranging discussion about the issues. Current Mayor Ed Riehl is not seeking a third 4-year term, and will be replaced next year by either Steve Brun, Charlie Cleves, or Bill Helton. Two of those three candidates will advance past the May primary and face each other in November's general election.

Steve Pendery is seeking his sixth term as Campbell County Judge/Executive, but first he faces political newcomer Anna Zinkhon in the Republican primary. Zinkhon declined to participate in a debate with Pendery, so Pendery appears with RCN's Michael Monks to discuss his goals for the future after twenty years at the helm of Kentucky's eighth-largest county.

Gary Moore is seeking is sixth term as Boone County Judge/Executive, but first he faces political newcomer Chris Reinersman in the Republican primary. Reinersman declined to participate in a debate, so Moore joined RCN's Michael Monks to discuss the race and his goals after 20 years at the helm of Kentucky's fastest-growing county.

Savannah Maddox is a Republican candidate for House District 61, which encompasses all of Grant County, and parts of Kenton, Scott, and Boone counties. In this interview with RCN and WNKR's Michael Monks, Maddox discusses her positions on recently adopted legislation related to education and teacher retirements, as well as plans for the Brent Spence Bridge and Eastern Bypass, marijuana, casino gaming, and more.

Democrats Darrell Link and Susan Back - candidates for the open seat in House District 61, which encompasses all of Grant, and parts of Kenton, Scott, and Boone counties - joined RCN's Michael Monks to debate the issues.
