Another reason is our curious nature. We are voyeuristic (nosy) in nature. 

This is not a bad thing. I think it helps us with a better understanding of what we see and hear.

And yes, I know that many of these shows are scripted for the audience. But the point is, we still like to know.

+++ WHOSE IDEA IS IT +++

There's a show that I used to watch entitled: Whose line is it anyway?"

I'm not sure if you ever watched or heard of it. 

But the very title make it sounds that someone is responsible for or owns a certain line in the show.

It would become apparent when each actor is giving a role that they had to use improv and communicate their understanding of what that line meant to them.

However, they did this with the help of others.

Somehow they were able to pull off a skit that for the most part, seemed as if they had some rehearsal done, when in fact they never did.

They built and pieced the ideas together and were all credited for the success of the show. 

Imagine, if leaders could use a similar approach to take an idea and build it out together with their team.

Life hands us a lot of teachable moments. 

We miss many of them because of our knee-jerk reactions.

Most times we miss them because we overreact or under-react. We don't take time to evaluate what is going on to see what lessons could we learn.

Life is learning and every day, we can learn something if we simply look for them.

I'm the first to admit that it is not easy. I've fallen prey to moments that I've missed because of my over or under-reaction.

How about you?

We had one of those moments at the State of the Union address by the president of the United States - Donald Trump. At the end of his speech, the leader of the House - Nancy Pelosi, tore up the speech that was for the house records.

There have been many on both sides of the aisle who have displayed strong feelings for or against what she did.

In this episode, you will hear 5 reasons why what Speaker Pelosi did, was a "yuge" or a major leadership mistake.

This mistake will be overlooked if your reaction is driven primarily by emotions and/or party loyalty.

My daughter who is very fashion conscious and has the eye for matching colors and styles in a way that most people cannot.

She has at times taken on the role of telling me what not to wear or what to wear.

I wonder out loud, how have I managed all these years (LOL).

However, I must concede that she's better at it than I am. She sees what I don't.

One day she volunteered to detoxify my closet getting rid of what no longer serves me.

It was hard parting with clothes I had sentimental attachments to.

But she knew I needed to. I'm glad she did.

What a difference it made!

I got rid of clothes I would not have gotten rid of and I must admit, my closet looked and "felt" better.

This is what many people in the workplace are wanting to see happen. They want to get rid of what is not serving them or the overall good of the organization.

They want a workplace-detox.  

Their workplace - their closet - stresses them out. There is tension all around. It's becoming difficult to perform.

What I've heard is that the brain is better able to remember things when they are given in clusters of 3's. There is some science to that but I won't take time to go into it now. That's not the purpose of this show.
