In this episode, host Christena Lawrie chats with another local artist-in-residence at The Kingston Grand Theatre this summer. Jan Le Clair performed in the Regina Rosen auditorium from July 4-8th along with her fellow members of folk trio Aster Fire. She gets into how the accordian became her mainstay, her experience throughout the residency, and even brought her accordian along for a live demonstration!

In this episode, Chris sits down with the one and only Haviah Mighty to talk about her newest singles, her Juno award winning album Stock Exchange, and more. Haviah Mighty is a rapper from Brampton, Ontario, and she is currently on tour and will be here in Kingston performing at Rockin’ in the Square on Friday July 29th.

Melissa Noventa and Zahra Badua are both dancers who teamed up to take the stage ealier in July. They get into their experiences as artists-in-residence, how they put this collaboration together, where they both got their starts in dance, and more.

This week host Christena Lawrie chats with Lydia Wilton, one of the local artists-in-residence at The Kingston Grand Theatre this summer. We talk about her performance and experiences throughout the residency, as well as her work as frontman of glam rock band Nameless Band and her personal journey as a musician. We also listen to lots of tunes from Nameless Band!

Next, we talk to Writersfest 2022 artistic director Aara Macauley, who gives all the details on the event coming up in the fall, including some details regarding the lineup of authors which was just announced last night at their launch party and their recently released event teaser.
