Brad Garrett is a real winner. And a real star. Ed McMahon told him so when Brad became the first $100,000 grand champion winner in the comedy category on Star Search. That was back in 1984. Thirty years later Kira sits down with him at his Malibu home over looking the Pacific Ocean and more picture frames than an Aaron Brothers showroom. Best known for his award winning performance as Robert Barone on the outstanding sitcom "Everybody Loves Raymond”, Brad is now winning laughs and new fans as the proprietor of his own comedy club at the MGM in Las Vegas, Brad Garrett’s Comedy Club. Very familiar with the comedy scene in Las Vegas, Brad reminisces about his start opening for greats like Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr. and Smokey Robinson. Brad offers up some advice on how to keep his two kids from getting spoiled, how to handle high profile divorces all while giving Kira a glimmer of hope that he might read one of her scripts one day.

There are a few key comedians Kira credits with inspiring and reinforcing her desire to pursue stand up comedy. 1) The first time she saw Mork from Ork sit on his couch using his head 2) The first time she snuck into a movie theater to see Eddie Murphy's Raw. 3) The first time she lied about her age and illegally a headliner at a real comedy club. Afterwards he came over and talked to her and the other 15 year olds she dragged down to Cobb's Comedy Club that night. That comedian was Ritch Shydner. Now, over two decades later Kira gets to gush all over him again. They discuss drugs, diapers and he even tries to talk her out of having another kid. He's appeared on The Tonight Show with both Johnny and Jay. He recurred on Married With Children and Roseanne. And more importantly, he's a father to three very lucky kids.
