Hey friends, in this episode of The Kori Leigh Show, I am once again checking in from Osaka, Japan! I can't believe we're wrapping up an incredible 17-day journey around this amazing country. The food, the culture—everything's been just out of this world. In this episode, I want to drop into how my journey of 7.77 years of sobriety is a massive game-changer for my life. It's about thriving without booze, embracing adventure, and living a life full of discipline and joy.
I’m sharing about 'God Shots'—these divine little nudges that remind me of my path and light up my day with gratitude. Whether it’s a G Wagon sighting, a special number, or just a beautiful moment, these are reminders that God is present in everything. I've been thinking about the grace it took to get sober and build this life I've got now—a business, a house, raising my daughter who’s already traveled and speaks two languages. Honestly, none of it could have happened without choosing sobriety and having faith come first. Reflecting back, there were dark days battling demons and wrestling with faith. Today, I'm living proof that an incredible life is on the other side of addiction, filled with inner peace, prosperous living, and divine connection. It feels surreal, and I'm excited to share more on creating this epic path, finding God's presence in each moment, and the transformation that comes when you say yes to life and relinquish control. Can't wait for you to listen in!

Reflecting on my journey through sobriety, I discuss how many of the most treasured aspects of my life, like being sober, being a mom, and having a successful podcast, were never part of my plan. I delve into the paradox of setting goals while embracing the unexpected, the deep lows of hitting rock bottom, and the profound highs of building a new life in sobriety.
Today marks the start of a mini Japan series where I highlight being sober in Japan, the luxuries and joys of a sober life, and the deep spiritual connections I've made along the way. Stay tuned as we explore how sobriety enhances travel and enriches life's experiences!

In this heartfelt episode of the Kori Leigh Show podcast, I open with immense gratitude for the show's incredible growth, attributing it to my devoted listeners. I reflect on my journey, discussing my memoir, 'Atlas of Darkness,' and how it symbolized a pivotal transformation in my life. I emphasize the importance of discipline and habits in achieving personal and professional goals. I outline five life-changing habits: always getting dressed, prioritizing good nutrition, moving the body, learning priorities, and recognizing energetic leaks.
I want you to leave this episode feeling encouraged to start small, focus on one habit at a time, and get curious about obstacles preventing progress.

In this episode of The Kori Leigh Show, I brought on Gentry Jones as a special guest to share her story of sobriety and recovery. Despite having supportive parents and no significant trauma, she struggled with fitting in during her adolescence, developing a dependency on alcohol for coping with insecurities and social anxieties. The conversation travels through her high school and college years, detailing the binge drinking episodes, personal struggles, and the wake-up calls that led her to rehab and eventual sobriety. We discuss the societal stigma around alcoholism, the challenging journey to self-acceptance, and the importance of breaking free from the notion that alcoholism has just one face.
The episode offers a raw, honest look at the challenges of getting and staying sober, the intervention that almost didn’t take, and the critical moments that defined her recovery. Tune in for an inspiring story of resilience and transformation, and learn how she now helps others through her 'Quitter Club' and sober community.

I want to talk to you about the themes of 'weathering the storm' and 'feelings are not facts,' exploring how these concepts intertwine in the journey of life. I share my personal experiences in life coaching, where I initially believed that a positive mindset and manifestation could lead to constant happiness. However, I learned that life encompasses both light and dark moments, and true wisdom lies in accepting this duality with neutrality.
From dealing with emotions to confronting difficult life situations, I discuss the importance of acceptance and how it helps us cope with life's challenges. Through metaphors, like we always do here on The KLS, I illustrate how recognizing reality and taking appropriate actions, rather than reacting impulsively to feelings, leads to personal growth and resilience. Let’s dig in to understand how embracing both the joy and discomfort with patience, faith, and inner strength can help you weather any storm you face.

In this episode of The Kori Leigh Show, I am going to rant on the true meaning of surrendering while actively pursuing our goals. Surrendering is not giving up but learning to live life on life's terms, balancing action with letting go of the outcome. We dive into the importance of discipline, focus, and dedication while being open to God's guidance along the way. Using personal metaphors (which you know I love to use), such as aiming for a 300-pound deadlift and preparing for a Spartan race, we discuss how setbacks can become opportunities for growth and how God's path may reveal unexpected treasures and insights.
This episode emphasizes the need to stay curious and responsive to life, balancing between rigorous action and spiritual surrender.

In this episode of The Kori Leigh Show, I dive deep into the concept of 'Future Self' and explore various perspectives on manifestation, scripting, and the role of visualizing future goals. Lets start with the reflection of my own spiritual crisis at 25, where I struggled with the balance between pursuing dreams and accepting life's inevitable ups and downs. By sharing my journey from initial beliefs in purely manifesting outcomes to reaching rock bottom through substance abuse and then finding solace in recovery, this episode conveys the importance of surrendering to a higher power while staying active in one's pursuits.
Throughout the episode, I want to emphasize the need for letting go of strict control and trusting in a divine plan, demonstrating how this approach has led to unexpected but profoundly rewarding outcomes in her life.

In this episode of The Kori Leigh Show, we dive into the profound concept that other people's opinions of you are none of your business. We explore the strong human tendency for approval and belonging, and how it often clashes with our need to be authentic. Through personal anecdotes, including a conversation with my gym trainer and a recent social media experience, we illustrate the challenges of staying true to oneself amidst external judgment. I discuss the impact of feeling judged and the importance of adhering to one’s mission and purpose, especially when facing negative feedback. This episode emphasizes the necessity of diverse thought and respect for different perspectives, reinforcing the value of standing unwaveringly in one’s truth to inspire and uplift others.
