Sand Springs has re-opened Morrow Road again after its closure this morning due to an explosion at Solos Extract Company, a marijuana concentrate processing center. Sand Springs Deputy Police Chief Todd Enzbrenner says the facility had been red-flagged by the city for code violations.

OHP says the crash occurred at the Sapulpa exit near Kellyville, causing traffic to be backed up for miles. OHP Lt. Mark Southall tells KRMG that a semi truck was parked on the outside shoulder when a truck pulling a trailer drifted off the roadway and hit the back of the semi. Both vehicles caught fire, and Southall says this is a fatality crash, but they aren't sure how many people have died. Two horses were removed from the trailer and one may have died. The semi driver was injured with non-life-threatening injuries.

Late last year, Sand Springs Police started investigating an inappropriate relationship between a minor and Marcus Owens, a pastor and former Sand Springs Schools employee. Police say Owens told them he was like a father-figure to the victim, but the victim reported there was sexual contact between the two. Police say he has worked in various roles in the school district as a teacher’s assistant, paraprofessional, security guard, and a substitute teacher.
