Tulsa Police responded to a burglary in progress Thursday evening at a residence in North Tulsa. Officers say a mother and her three children were outside when 20-year-old Lilianna Gonzalez, and two males approached them. She said she was calling the police, and the two males ran off. That's when police say Gonzalez grabbed the 3-year-old child and attempted to kidnap her. Fortunately, the mother held onto her child and wouldn't let go. Reports say Gonzalez then entered the home through an unlocked door, and children, ages 6 and 10, were inside. A K-9 officer was released into the home, and Gonzalez was located and bitten by the dog. She was booked for 1st-Degree Burglary and Attempted Kidnapping.

There are dozens of new laws that hit the books this week. The Oklahoma legislators voted several bills into law that took effect this month, and some focus on education. House Bill 1276 adopts a bell-to-bell ban on cell phones in the classroom, and HB 3700 requires state educational institutions to adopt a policy that requires a student's grades to be evaluated solely on an academic basis and not opinions, beliefs or conduct of the student. Senate Bill1481 says elementary schools must provide 40 minutes of recess per school day for the school to receive accreditation.

Earlier this week, a man walked into the Walgreen's at East 86th Street, grabbed a pair of scissors from the shelf, and used it to break into a locked security box to steal $140 worth of the Plan B contraception pill.

White arrows are popping up on some construction project sites, and ODOT's TJ Gerlach tells KRMG they're part of a wrong-way mitigation project. The new arrows are directional to give an extra indication of the proper direction of a lane.

ODOT is considering three different upgrade options to the stretch of Highway 75 from the Okmulgee County line, to 151st Street, and the meeting allowed citizens to share their concerns. The proposals are about improving safety and traffic flow. ODOT's TJ Gerlach tells KRMG the meeting was well attended. The upgrades would replace current diamond interchanges with x-ramps, which means drivers would get on and off of the highway using one-way frontage roads on each side of the highway.

Sapulpa Police Captain Mike Sole tells KRMG that around 8 a.m. Tuesday, officers got a call about a possible stolen car in the parking lot of the Garden Park Apartments, located near the 200 block of North Hickory. Sole says when they arrived, a man exited the car and raised a gun at officers. The officers immediately rendered aid until EMSA could arrive. The suspect, who has not been identified, was shot in the arm and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Sole did not know if the suspect fired his weapon, but no officers were injured in the shooting. He also said they believe the car and the gun were both stolen.

A 20-year old man kidnapped his 17-year old girlfriend from a Tulsa party but died after he turned the gun on himself, according to Rogers County Sheriff Scott Walton. When the man kidnapped his girlfriend, she attempted to escape, asking a bystander for help, but the man beat the Good Samaritan severely and drove away. Deputies say they received a call about an erratic driver near Inola, but the driver told his victim he would not stop. When deputies turned on their lights, the man shot at his girlfriend four times, but she was not hit. Reports say he then shot himself and the truck rolled several times. The name of the deceased suspect has not been released.

Numerous outlets have reported that reality TV star and activist, Kim Kardashian, posted Glossip's $500,000 bond, and he is now out of prison while awaiting a new trial. Glossip, now 63 years old, was convicted in 1998 for his role in the 1997 killing of Oklahoma City motel owner Barry Van Treese.

Just after 10 Thursday morning, death row inmate Raymond Eugene Johnson was executed, using a three-drug injection at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary in McAlester. Johnson was sentenced to death for killing his ex-girlfriend, Brooke Whitaker, with a claw hammer and setting the house on fire, which also killed her 7-month old daughter, Kya. Prosecutors said Johnson fractured Whitaker's skull and caused more than 20 lacerations on her face and head. He also set the house on fire while the mother and daughter were still alive. Johnson was convicted and sentenced to death. Court records say, that in addition to his first-degree murder conviction, Johnson was convicted of manslaughter in 1996, serving nine years of a 20-year sentence.
