This episode includes an educational and informative conversation with Dr. Bibhakar Shakya. He is an inspiring person with a Ph.D. degree in Economics and works as a Principal consultant for energy and environment-related projects in the US. Dr. Shakya is also a Senior Distinguished Fellow at Nepal Economic Forum in Kathmandu, Nepal.  His grand-father, late Mr. Chandra Man Saiju, was a royal physician for King Tribhuvan, and late Sir Lain Singh Bangdel was his father-in-law. However, this episode has nothing to do with his professional career or his position. We talk primarily about his experiences as a father of an autistic child.  His younger son, Neal Bandgel Shakya, was diagnosed with autism when he was about two and a half years old. The episode covers the difficulties and challenges a father has to face when there is a special-needs child in the family. Unfortunately, the rate of autism in the world has been increasing significantly over the last several years.  All of us need to be aware and learn about autism to be helpful, mindful and be sensitive to our family members and friends who are dealing with it.

This episode is conversation with my dear friend Ojesh Singh, currently residing in London, UK. He talks about how important it is for him as Newar to embrace and educate the people around him to show how important the Newar/ Newa culture and its existence is. Regardless of his busy life having a full time job and taking care of family, Ojesh somehow manages time to devote his contribution for his community and people around him. The episode mainly reflects how Nepalese living especially outside of Nepal need to educate, embrace and teach about their cultural roots to the new generations regardless of their culture, caste and background.
