GUEST: Federal Way mayor and current candidate for King County Prosecutor, Jim Ferrell, talks to KVI about the latest politically correct attempts in King County for social justice and criminal cases called "RCP" or "restorative community pathways". The social justice criminal court program doesn't have much in the way of checks and balances. To wit, RCP has no case number and no judge of record for juveniles and its now being expanded to some adults. Ferrell says "good intentions" attempting to address other prior societal ills by allowing RCP revolves around looking almost exclusively at the defendant but never on accountability for the victim. Ferrell says there's a "spiral effect" when "justice is removed from the equation" to focus on the defendant's well-being rather than the crime victim's well-being.

Renton Mayor, Armondo Pavone, and Kent Mayor, Dana Ralph, talk to KVI about why King County's top elected officials and the Washington Legislature's policies are making their cities more dangerous places. Ten mayors in south King County are co-signing this letter to King County and Legislative elected officials demanding "prosecution of crimes...and incarceration of those (criminals) that need it". Mayor Pavone explains the story of failing to get an arrest warrant on a juvenile suspect that allowed the suspect to remain free and end up being accused of murder in a subsequent crime when the original arrest was never made. At least two people were in custody in connection with a retail crime ring that officials say is responsible for more than $100,000 in stolen merchandise from several high-end stores in Bellevue and the Seattle area. One of those people was Billy Chambers, 29, the same person arrested in 2008 for killing 53-year-old Edward McMichael, Seattle’s "Tuba Man."
