What Happens When Leadership is Under Pressure?
My hometown of Los Angeles is devastated beyond words—but not out for the count.
The ravaging fires have left thousands homeless, businesses destroyed, and hearts broken beyond what anyone can imagine. I know this feeling intimately, having lost my family home in the 1994 Northridge earthquake. It’s an experience where you’re forced to rebuild with nothing but the clothes on your back. In moments like this, we cling to faith, embrace the kindness of others, and hold onto a resolve to keep going.
As a proud Angeleno, what I know to be true is that this city will rise again—better, stronger, wiser, and more resilient. That is who and what Los Angeles is.
At the same time, these challenges have brought vital conversations about decision-making under pressure into sharp focus.
In a recent discussion, I explored a question many leaders are asking: "What would I do in a situation like this?" This question serves as a lens to examine the responsibilities of high-stakes leadership. I spoke candidly about this topic in this podcast episode.
If you're exploring ways to strengthen your leadership under pressure—or guiding a team to do the same—this episode might be a valuable resource.
