John Lazzaretto Founder of Bandits Lacrosse joined Skoo Walker and Pete Jansons to talk about The Bandits Lacrosse Club.

John needs:

1. Access to reasonably priced fields. The Bandits are a Non for Profit Club. John does this for the love of the sport. He hasn't made any money in 9 years of doing this, If he stays in Lake Forest he will have to charge parents double or he will have to leave to go to Lake Bluff

2. Lacrosse Coaches with experience to pitch in and help

John Lazzaretto was an All-State Football Player for the Lake Forest Scouts in the early '70s. He earned a scholarship to play 2 years of football at the University of Georgia for Vince Dooley. He was injured and to move back home. John transferred to play for the University of Illinois and finished his football career there. John played 3 sports and still holds the Illinois High School Record in the 400

 The Champaign Gazette is the original All-State recognition for football going back to the 1930s. There have been only 4 Lake Forest High School Football players to receive All-State recognition from the Champaign Gazette. John Lazzaretto was one of the 4 that received this recognition. John is the only one of the 4 Lake Forest Football Players that did not get placed on the Lake Forest High School Wall of Fame.

John Lazzaretto has supported the Lake Forest community for the last 9 years by founding and leading the non for profit Bandits Lacrosse Club which is the feeder team to the Girls Lacrosse Team of Lake Forest High School.

We would like to correct this omission and have John Lazzaretto placed on the Wall of Fame located within Lake Forest High School

Carol Summerfield Executive Director of the Lake Forest Lake Bluff History Center stopped by to give Pete the info on her opening night for the Map Stories Exhibit

This exhibition provides an exciting and rare opportunity to see 19th and 20th century maps from their extensive collection--from hand-drawn maps of the early village to road maps for that new fangled automobile. Stop by for a chance to see the history of our community through a different vantage point.

This will be the first event at the museum in over a year, and they will have complimentary drinks and light hors d'oeuvres to enjoy before or after viewing the exhibit. Face coverings will still be required inside the building, but not outside!"

Joe Knesley owns Chiefs Pub with his lovely wife Jenna. Joe stopped by to have a pint with Skoo Walker and Pete Jansons. The last time we had Joe on was in January during Covid restrictions.  We caught up with him to see how things are starting to look for Chiefs as we get into a post covid world.

Kara is the spokeswoman for Young America’s Foundation.

Kara became involved with Young America’s Foundation her freshman year at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C., where she studied Political Science and Journalism. She served on the chapter’s executive board for four years and successfully hosted Ben Shapiro at a standing-room-only lecture amid controversy while serving as GW YAF co-president her senior year.

The chapter also hosted Sen. Rick Santorum, Steve Forbes, Marc Thiessen, Sen. Rand Paul, Christina Hoff Sommers, and Bay Buchanan in addition to the 9/11: Never Forget Project, Freedom Week, Ask YAF, and Cemetery of the Innocents activism events.

During her time at GW, Kara interned with YAF’s National Journalism Center at NBC News’s Washington Bureau. Kara also worked at the Washington Examiner and the American Action Network before joining YAF’s national headquarters staff. Kara has been profiled in Newsweek as a “young, diverse conservative star progressives need to fear.”
