  • Episode 123 - Total War Aladin Rage
We review Total War; Three Kingdoms and Rage2, and the Guy Ritchie directed Aladdin.
Returning to video games, we start the show with our thoughts on Total War: Three Kingdoms. This time the long-running series heads to ancient China, with a setting based on 14th-century conflicts of the Han Dynasty. It blends historical events with the more mythical aspects of the legends, served with the pedigree of Creative Assembly's other games. We've been fervently anticipating this game, and we can't wait to tell our thoughts on this game.
Also in video games, we discuss Rage 2, the sequel to the Id software classic from 2010. Tim Willits directed the original Rage and is the final game to involve the legendary developer John Carmack. The sequel now is helmed by Magnus Nedfors, best known for his work on the Mad Max video game. We are a little sceptical about the game, so we ask if this is a case of ten years too late?
And in our main segment, we review Aladdin, the live-action remake of the Disney classic. We are huge fans of the original animated film, featuring the brilliant performance of the late Robin Williams. So will the live-action version step out of the monumental shadow of the 1992 movie?

With one episode left, can the show reclaim the throne as the king of television? Or just like Cersei be crushed under the ambition of staying on top?
And in our feature segment, we review John Wick Chapter 3: Parabellum. Keanu Reeves returns as the titular hitman, now with a price on his head. Picking up right where the last film ended, John Wick has to battle every assassin in the world to survive. After the phenomenal Chapter 2, does the new film top its predecessor?

We are anticipating a lot from this episode, especially after the battle for Winterfell. Will the series exceed expectations, or will it be crushed under the weight of its ambitions?
And in our main segment, it's everyones favourite rosy-cheeked furry, Ryan Reynolds. He plays Detective Pikachu as he aids a young Tim Goodman, to solve the mystery of Tim's father's murder. Promising a fully realised world populated with all our favourite Pokemon, we ask the question - "How did this movie get greenlit?"

  • Episode 120 - Sonic Blue Balls
The trailer for the live action Sonic the Hedgehog just dropped, and we have a lot to say about it. Also Stars Wars day and our episodic review on the ongoing season of Game of Thrones.
Sonic can't seem to catch a break, ever since his glory days during the 16-bit era. Now, in an attempt to reintroduce the speedster back to the masses, a movie trailer has arrived with very negative reception. Though the filmmakers have come out addressing the major criticism with the titular mascot, is this a case of too little too late?
And in our main segment, we continue our weekly Game of Thrones episode review. Taking place after the battle for Winterfell, the plan now becomes to claim King's Landing. But with much of the fighting forces decimated by the white walker assault. How will Jon and Daenerys inspire their troops to take the iron throne?

  • Episode 119 - Battle for Winterfell
This week its videogames and thrones, we review Days Gone, Mortal Kombat 11 and the epic Game of Thrones episode - The Long Night.
First up is Days Gone, a PS4 exclusive from the guys who gave us the Syphon Filter games. It's a post-apocalyptic zombie survival game, with third-person shooting thrown in. The game has been in development since 2015, using the Unreal4 engine. With Zombie games seeing a steady decline in popularity, will Days Gone reinvigorate the genre or is it more of the same?
Then we have Mortal Kombat 11 from Netherealm studios and Warner Bros. Interactive. The series has been going strong since the early nineties and has made a bit of comeback, riding the wave of 2008's fighting game resurgence. However, it's no longer the magnet for controversy as to when it debuted during the 16-bit era — now opting for a more competitive E-sports identity, while still retaining some of the classic gore and violence.
And in our feature segment, we continue the weekly Game of Thrones episode review. It's the most anticipated battle yet, that's been teased back in season one. With the Night King finally arriving at the gates of Winterfell, and Cersei's forces absent from the ranks. Will Jon Snow and Daenerys be able to defend the realm from the impending fury of the White Walkers?

  • Episode 117 - Hellboy Freezes Over
This week it's our reactions to the return of Game of Thrones and our review of Hellboy.
Winter has arrived, sort of, the final season of Game of Thrones is finally here. It's been a good two years since last season, leaving us a stunner of a cliffhanger. And with this being the final season, we are heavily anticipating how the epic series will end.
And in our main segment, we review Hellboy, a reboot from director Neil Marshall. Fans might still recall Guillermo Del Toro's previous two films, starring the perfectly cast Ron Perlman as the titular Hellboy. A mild success financially, but the movies received high praise from critics and fans alike. We've been clamouring for a third instalment, but the powers that be have decided to restart the franchise with a new director and star, so we're curious but also cautious.

  • Episode 116 - Heavy Petting Semetary
It's a double horror feature this week, and we review "Us" the latest from "Get Out" director Jordan Peele. And the remake of the 1989 film "Pet Sematary" based on the book by Stephen King.
First up is "Us" written and directed by Jordan Peele. The film stars Lupita Nyong'o, Winston Duke, Shahadi Wright Joseph, Evan Alex, Elisabeth Moss, and Tim Heidecker, and follows a family confronted by their doppelgängers. Peele produced the film alongside Jason Blum and Sean McKittrick with the trio previously having collaborated on "Get Out". There is a lot of expectations riding on this film, especially after the success of "Get Out", and we ask if Peele isn't a one trick pony.
And next up is "Pet Sematary" directed by Kevin Kölsch and Dennis Widmyer and written by Jeff Buhler, from a screen story by Matt Greenberg. The film stars Jason Clarke, Amy Seimetz, and John Lithgow, and follows a family that discovers a mysterious graveyard in the woods behind their new home. The previous 1989 adaptation hasn't aged well but is still one of the better interpretations of King's work. So we discuss if the second time round improves on the previous attempts.

Shazam is here or as we like to call him the true Captain Marvel. In this special DCEU episode, we discuss the current shift in tone with the films. Especially after the success of Wonder Woman and Aquaman, and the promise of even more films in future. We also give our suggestions for other DC characters who should be getting their own origin films.
Then in our feature segment, we review the film Shazam, starring Zachary Levi as the titular, Captain Marvel. The film promises a fun adventure similar in the veins of classic superhero films such as the 70's Superman movie.
