  • Planet of the Apes - Movie Review
The 50th anniversary of the "Planet of the Apes" is as good a time as any to talk about this Charlton Heston classic that has spawned and respawned numerous sequels and prequels.
Plus, recent controversy with Roseanne and DeRay make this so hot right now.
We mostly focus on the original and the most recent entry into the franchise that helps close the loop on the interdimensional universe on the belt of Orion 320 light years from Earth.

  • Fahrenheit 451 - Movie Review
This week we discuss the new HBO film Fahrenheit 451 an adaptation of the Ray Bradbury novel of the same name. While not the best movie around, there are plenty of concepts to be sussed out and we only begin to scratch the surface on this one. It is a look into the future of the SJW-safe space culture warriors get their way, and that is downright scary. Show notes: www.lastnighters.com/22 Robert and I analyze popular movies from a Rothbardian/Anarcho-Capitalist perspective. We use movies as a starting point for people who may not be familiar with this way of thinking.   Discussion of the plot and decisions that characters make in relation to morality and violations of the non-aggression principle are our bread and butter. We also will highlight and discuss any themes or lessons from Austrian Economics that we can glean from the film. The point is to show what anarchy actually is with instances that are presented in film. SUBSCRIBE, RATE AND REVIEW ON APPLE PODCASTS (or iTUNES)

  • Evil Genius - Movie Review
In our first foray outside of the realm of film, Robert and I take on the Netflix documentary EVIL GENIUS about one of the most bizarre bank heists in history. A scavenger hunt for an unwitting victim/perpetrator to rob a bank for $250,000 and then find clues to stop a collar around his neck from killing him goes awry and leads law enforcement down a years-long journey into the mind of madness. • Deadpool - Movie Review
With the release of Deadpool 2 upon us, we felt it a good time to jump on that astro-turfed viral-marketing highway and do the original. This is a movie right up Robert's alley, so we go with some maximum effort and fanboi out a touch. This goes a bit longer than we have as late but there’s plenty of discussion and mirth to be had on this episode. Enjoy.

  • Bee Movie - Movie Review
Robert and I get into animal rights, sentience, and “exploitation” while we discuss Bee Movie, 2007 Jerry Seinfeld animated flick.
It’s really about some SJW-activist type who gets indignant about a thing, whines to government to fix the "injustice", GETS what he wants; and things fall to shit. They realize that the original arrangement, the "spontaneous order of the market arrangement" was actually the best option so they go back to that.

  • Nacho Libre - Movie Review
Robert and I wrestle with cultural appropriation as we attempt to believe in science and pin Nacho Libre. This is a fun discussion on a movie where we have wide disagreement.

  • Hot Fuzz - Movie Review
We do a buddy-cop movie for the greater good and get into it over Hot Fuzz. There's a bit of disagreement between us on this movie that is a bit difficult to reconcile.
We hope you enjoy the discussion.

  • Find Me Guilty - Movie Review
We get into the Vin Diesel with hair flick, Find Me Guilty which is about the longest criminal trial in American history where one gang was being prosecuted by an even bigger gang.
There are a lot of fun themes in this one worthy of discussion despite the poor box office numbers for this film.

  • Super Troopers - Movie Review
    You boys like Mexico?
As the sequel is about to hit theaters, we revist an old classic (that hasn't aged well), Super Troopers.
Five Vermont state troopers, avid pranksters with a knack for screwing up, try to save their jobs and out-do the local police department by solving a crime.

  • Hero - Movie Review
We get into "Hero" a mythical retelling of the historical story of the first emperor of China who used military conquest in a bid to unite the country and implement peace.
Not to be confused with the Mariah Carey movie of the same name, HERO starring martial arts legend Jet Li in a visually stunning martial arts epic where a fearless warrior rises up to defy an empire and unite a nation! With supernatural skill ... and no fear ... a nameless soldier embarks on a mission of revenge against the fearsome army that massacred his people.
Let's just say that we find the means dubious to attempt to achieve a noble goal.
